Flying from Boats phase 2

So I';ve done a bit of flying from a boat - using the reptile without a gimbal. Next step was to move to the hexa, with the brushless gimbal - and give it a bit of a work out.

So after a gentle start, flying around the mouth of the Beaulieu river, we moved out into the Solent and did some FPV - chasing a rib that I was sat in. A friend provided his rib, whilst another mate acted as spotter - and held open my flight case. (Top tip - if you';re aluminium flight case lid closes on the FPV aerial, you lose signal really quickly!). I was taking off from the stable multihull platform, jumping in the rib and off we went. We (well, Carole - brave lass) did catch the hexacopter once, but usually we landed back on the cat.

Great fun - really enjoyed it. Next up - speed testing with the rib, and some water-skiing :)

Forgot to mention - this is ';as is';. The footage has not been stabilised at all - so very very pleased with it, despite the little wobbles now and again...

Hey Rick. Did you just slap it into loiter while you transferred onto the Cat? It looked so stable while you did this.
I am guessing by the sea state there must have been a little breeze running...
Absolutely cracking footage by the way, A lovely perspective on the river mouth there. Do you have the camera in a water housing? ; )

Yup, just loiter.

Breeze was increasing, and that was the final landing for the day, as it was getting too windy after that. Camera is just on he gimbal, not in the housing.
