DJI Mini-OSD

Anyone had any experience of the DJI MiniOSD (the £50 one)? :hmm:

Information is a bit scarce at the moment. Doesn';t look too bad for basic OSD as that';s what I';m looking for. Using the FC for it';s data should work out cheaper than buying the various sensors of other systems?

I think the main drawback for FPV.. is that it doesent have RSSi

I am vaguely familiar with RSS feeds but is that the same thing on this OSD? I want it for basic flight info, altitude/speed etc.. and this looked like an option. What would I lose compared to other OSD setups (It';s all new to me) ?

Cheers Craig.

I do like my ezosd, as it fits in well with my immersion fpv gear, and has all the info i need.  I';ve just bought the naza2 bundle with mini osd, from this forum offer, so i';ll let u know how useful it is.  All i can say is any osd is better than none.

I have a mini iOSD, on my naza v2.

Its good, I was worried it would be a bit obtrusive and it would get in the way, but it dosn';t its very subtle. The home position thing is great, and if you were to loose the gopro output, you could fly home ';instruments only';. The artificial horizon is not that much use, but its interesting to see how much the craft is moving, whilst the gimbal filters out the movment.

The battery and altitude is essential information to know, and I currently have this on my radio handset. Glancing down at the radio is not as easy as seeing the voltage in the corner of the screen.

There is other info on there, I have not yet worked out what all of this does, but it certainly looks nice.

For 50 quid, you plug it in, wire the video feeds in and out and off you go. its great, as with all the DJI stuff its very simple and easy, and its very small and light.

Im not sure what your individual needs are for an osd, but ive found it to be very handy, and I would recommend it entirely.

If anyone is coming to the basingstoke meeting on saturday, il have my 550 there with the mini iOSD, your welcome to have a look and we can talk further.

Pete.

Yes, I want one of these MiniOSD to go with the Naza M v2 I will be getting. Looks easy to setup.

Not sure why the OSD Mark 2 is so expensive at 170 notes and its a lot bigger too!

If I use my GoPro 3 and a normal FPV camera, can it handle both or will I need a switch?

thanks

sevet

usually osd';s handle one camera, theres a 5$ 3 cameras switch at hovbyking, but you can connect tv out of the gopro to the miniosd and use just that

saw this on ebay. From China, but is less than the standard UK price, I guess it would not incur a custom charge also since its a low value item..

Ebay link looks like it';s back in stock, but it doesn';t look any cheaper than buying from FirstPersonView.co.uk, plus it would still qualify for VAT & duty.

I ordered mine yesterday along with the Naza group buy, and paid full retail price plus courier shipping. That';ll teach me not to shop around  :(

Oh well, the Naza was a bargain!  ~~

Ordered my DJI mini OSD from firstpersonview.co.uk on the 20th August (was on backorder) so hopefully I should have one of these little gem';s soon. ;-)
