My quick DIY retractable landing gear mod

Might be useful to others.

It';s not half as strong as the old plastic legs, and will probably break on a hard landing, so not to sure how long it will last, but we';ll see:

2013.08.quad retractable gimbal

basically a few bits of 3mm ID carbon tube, a couple of kiting T- joints, and a pair of these:

total cost about 15 quid.

keeps the legs out of the video frame, and looks kinda cool.

Nice mate.  Nifty idea for getting those legs out the way of the camera on a 450.

They are just from a kite shop on the net.  Sorry it was ages ago,  can';t remember who.

Nicely done, was looking at the motorized retracts from hobbyking a few times now, and never got round to it, seeing your has rekindled the idea again :)

i have a few spare carbon tubes, from another frame, well, glad you posted :)
