Gimbal won't work

I have 1.6++ firmware and I have plugged servos into M7 & M8.

However, I get no power to the servos. They work fine on my servo tester but not on the board!

I have M1 powering the board and just the signal wires for each ESC.

Grrr! This is very annoying as the firmware is great!

Help please!

Putting power on M1 only powers M1. M2-M8 need a separate power source.

wrong simon;) on the kk2.0 you only need power to m1. unless that changed in FW1.6++ but that would surely mean a hardware vhange;)

Also, are you using OPTO esc';s? they have no bec........
If YOU can fly it, I CAN crash it.

Simons,

You are correct!

It appears that powering M1 only powers the board!

If you want to put a servo on M2 to M8 (gimbal or Tri servo), then M2 to M8 requires power as well!

It appears that this is to stop noisy servos from resetting the ESCs.

So, the bottom line is to present power to any position from M2 to M8 to power any servo put there.

Cheers guys.

I also am having servo issues. My aircraft uses a Turnigy 9 channel receiver powered by a separate BEC. The RX to KK2 (firmware is V1.6++) are connected as expected, Throttle to throttle and so on. 4 Turnigy plush 30A ESCs are connected to M1 through M4. When I connect my SSG look-alike to M7 and M8 it will not work. When the aircraft is armed in Self-Level and the throttle opened, the Gimbal moves to an apparent random position and stops regardless of the airframe attitude. I have also noticed that the aircraft tries to twist out of level because one or more of the motors spool up and the only way to stop it is to throttle down and disarm. Without the gimbal, the aircraft is rock-steady and a joy to fly.

How can I get power to the M7 and M8 connectors for the servos? There is a pad on the back of the board marked "5V_IC1", can I link that to the underside of the M7 and M8 connectors, or can I take connections from the RX input connectors (say, Throttle and Rudder) and connect each one to one of the M7 and M8 connectors? Am I over thinking this, is there a simpler way?

Any advice would be most welcome.

Regards,
John.

John,

Have you sorted it yet?

You need to provide power to anywhere from M2 to M8. This can be from an ESC or from the Bec Unit.

Good luck.
