Gaza - can you make the subject line section in the forum topic list wider? It's cutting off the subject field really short.

Had another negative encounter, it's been a few years since the last one, just an uneducated ******, going on about drones being illegal yada yada yada.    :-/

I have a Futaba T6EXA form my kite Aerial Photography days that is on the 35.2Mhz freq (missing the whip aerial).
Can I modify this to work on the 2.4Ghz freq?   Or should I be retiring it?
What do a need to do to get a Tx to "bind" to a aircraft it was not sold with (assuming I will be able to mod the Tx). Tks

Ross

If it has a space in the back showing a 5 pin array then it may accept a Futaba 2.4Ghz module.
  Plain back..it reamains a 35 meg jobby.
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

Thanks for that.
I need to find out how to do the "Assan hack" and get an ET6i.
Is it worth the effort? The ESKY module costs £35.

took about 10 mins...

I only meant that to illustrate that it can be done,  the orange route is less expensive but if there is a Frsky unit similar that';s the one to go for - well respected and reliable.

I am still trying to figure my way around  this.I think that I understand that I can use the DHT 2.4GHz Telemetry DIY hack  module to modify the receiver  AND if I have an 8 channel  receiver on the aircraft configured for telemetry I will be able to control the aircraft (6 control channels) and get telemetry info back to me.
How do I receive/display the telemetry info?
Do I use the remaining 2 control channels for fail safe functions?  If so, how?

The modification of the T6EXA looks simple enough.  Once I know I have the right shopping list I can get on with it.

I have started to install the FrSky DHT conversion to 2.4Ghz however have run into difficulty identifying where to connect the various leads.
I can identify the +ve  (battery supply line) on the mother board and plenty of suitable GND, but I am having problems with the PPM signal line.  Should this be on the mother board or the  smaller board with the input/output socket?
I attach a pic of what I have (opened case).
I have marked the +ve, GND and MOD on the mother board and the VCC GND and MOD on the other circuit board as well as the PPM in/out .
Where should I connect the DHT?
Any advice gratefully received.

Cant make image appear!!!
How do I do that?
I selected "insert Image" and browsed to an image but no show!
Please advise.

I hope this is the image for the circuit board in my last post.
