450 DJI clone frame with 2 Axis camera gimbal

Gav

Finally finished my new build
Basically used the escs and motors from another airframe that I have shelved for now.

DJI Naza controller
GPS upgrade
10 x 5 Graupner props
850kv RC timer motors
18A plush turnigy escs
Eagle eye camera gimbal
5.8GHz HK VTX for fpv usage

yes I am concerned about only using 18A esc and will swap out with higher ones along with 1100kv motors which are on my fpv hack quad (never happy lol) Still it will be fine for trial flights to get a feel for it and decide if I really want to keep the gimbal or not. Weight is an issue but I've built for gentle aerial video shot not so much fpv or hard flying

just had an hour flying this morning and it flies beautifully.  however I will definitely be fitting the 1100kv motors.  Also a minimum of 3000mah type lipos are requied.  2200mah will work but will struggle towards the end of the flight.

Video VIDEO VIDEO!!!

Video or it didn't happen!! I need my fix... :evil

just spent couple hours doing a refit for more lift and better mid stick alt hold.  Yup it is much better now and crisp to fly.  850kv motors didn't quite cut it. I mean before the refit it had a slow accent and not enough lift to pull out of a rapid decent.

So now running with:
1100kv  motors 10 x 5 props
20A ESC's
:)

Hi Gave are they 2208 / 17 they look like they are I have some and use 10" props and the power is very good, might even start to recommend them id other people find the same results I did  :bravo:

Gav

yup 1100kv 2208/17

they're excellent quad motors.  Also great for smaller quads that use 8 x 4.5 props I've found.

The only thing I'd suggest with these motors is to cut the motor shafts down so the prop adaptor butts up to the motor body.

Gaza07

I agree the shafts are to long, ive got some 2208 / 12 1800kv here might be a laugh with 8" props on  ~~
