3.0.1-rc2 has been published, and should be in the download area soon. Contains a fix for wobbles in loiter and a few other things. Release notes:

Improvements over 3.0.1-rc1
1) Rate Roll, Pitch and Yaw I fix when we hit motor limits
2) pre-arm check changes:
    a) double flash arming light when pre-arm checks fail
    b) relax mag field checks to 35% min, 165% max of expected field
3) loiter and auto changes:
      a) reduced Loiter Pos P to 0.2 (was 1.0)
      b) reduced Loiter speed to 5 m/s
      c) reduced WP_ACCEL to 1 m/s/s (was 250  m/s/s)
      d) rounding error fix in loiter controller
4) Stability Patch fix which was freezing Rate Taw I term and allowing uncommanded Yaw

Hopefully be the last rc before it replaces 2.9.1....

*sigh* yes, but if you look at the commit hash (which starts ab09dc46...) you';ll find that its only on the master branch. Search for it here:

  https://github.com/diydrones/ardupilot/commits/master

You don';t find it here:

  https://github.com/diydrones/ardupilot/commits/ArduCopter-3.0

So what you';re effectively doing is encouraging people to run code that no-one may have flown (as we';re all concentrating on 3.0).

The beta code (http://firmware.diydrones.com/Copter/beta/) comes from the 3.0 branch, but someone forgot to move the tag which is why its taking a while.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I don';t want people flying untested code.

Looks like we';re very close to an official 3.0.1 release, as the rc tag has been removed (commit 3b982bc90).
