Hello Multi Rotorers..

Im from Malaysia and will be pursuing my master in Southampton

I will fly in 2 weeks time. I just would like to say hi and i wanted to know the rules to play multirotor in uk..

is long range fpv allowed?

what is the frequency for video is allowable?

any other rules that i should follow besides play in the safe area..

Hi and welcome nikizwan,

According the regulations you can only fly FPV within line of sight of your observer.

The legal video frequencies are 2.4GHz (10mW max) and 5.8Ghz (25mW max), most people tend to fly 5.8 due to their transmitter being on 2.4.

Of course there are people who use more than the legal power, non-legal frequencies and fly further than LOS. I';m not condoning it but it does happen, generally if they do it away from population bases, airfields, military installations, people and major roads then the chances of anything coming from it are slim.

I think you';d regret it if you didn';t.
If I was going to Malaysia I';d probably see many places I want to fly and wish I';d bought my quad :smiley: We have lots of interesting places that are different to Malaysia and could be interesting to you.
