Board fried?

I bought a faulty X4 for spares and am now wondering if it';s repairable? The original owner claims the power leads were reversed so when he plugged in a spare battery, the board died.

I haven';t examined the faulty board yet but am thinking, does anyone think it could be repaired?

He';s bought some cheap batteries of fleabay and not realised that the polarity was wrong - depends on if it lost the magic smoke or not if it';s repairable,  my guess is that it won';t be!

Reverse polarity into an FC spells almost certain death. There is no inherent polarity reversal protection in this kit that I can see any sign of.

Oh well, nothing lost. Just swapped my FC to it and she flies just fine.

Just an FYI but I originally bought what appears to a rebranded X4 called a Viper (£23 new) which I';ve so far managed to ruin the props and one motor (hence the need for spares). In comparison, the props tend to pop off the X4 far too easily and I';ve lost two in one afternoon (long grass). Luckily it came with a spare set.  :whistling:

The x4 has at least 5 different names, then there';s few copies too.

Now there';s a couple of revised x4 models just to complicate matters

Edited because for some reason Android changed x4 to DJI

Ah, the rebrander, right. Sorry I didn';t twig that.
From what I can tell, HG just replace the white for red props and put it in a nicer box with nicer manual and yet charge less? The TX and FC are still Hubsan branded.
