Went flying tonight at one of our clubs fields and two of us using Spekky gear had the same thing happen, we both completely lost control of our models (my quad and my mates flying wing) no response to sticks at all.  :banghead: His landed half way up a tree about 500 metres away,  mine in long grass about 100 metres away.
When I realised something was wrong I flicked the RTL switch but it just carried on until it bit dirt!
The result: knackered arm and a prop, may be some electrical problems but not had chance to check yet.
Dunno whether to make my own frame and transfer the bits or get a genuine DJI frame...

 That';s only a flesh wound!

Why buy a whole frame?  If you want genuine dji arms they cost £4 each here http://www.pegasusmodels.co.uk/prodcat.asp?type=submenu&maingp=Quadcopters&id=Spares%20DJI&all=1

Looks like a good idea, but based on how easily the arm snapped I think I';m going to replace the lot and keep the RCtimer ones for spares.
Update Just ordered the last 2xred & 2xWhite they had in stock.

watch out I believe dji  use 2.5 mm screws for their arm mounting rather than the 3mm on rctimer/hk ones though I think the glb ones are 2.5mm too

Gaza07

I have used the DJI arms and they do use 2.5mm as stated above so you will need new screws if you get them, I dont know about the GLB ones though  ~~

I have a mixture of  Hobby King, Goodluckbuy and DJI arms they all use the same 2.5mm screws :)

Looks like the moon must have been in the wrong phase, after I left another went in more or less the same place, hotliner this time under full power from about 400 ft up - needed digging out! Not a pretty sight I gather!

Yes, too bl@@dy true - all using Orange rx';s as well; almost what it was like when we were on 35meg and some other stupid pr@ was using the same crystal!
Must get my stuff transferred to my Aurora 9, been putting it off because of the cost but a couple of crashes and it becomes more sensible!

kilby

The fixed wing guys I have been talking to recently all loathe the OrangeRX

They used to blame the through 9x and went back to spectrum controllers and still got fly aways.

They claim to have sussed it by using spectrum receivers again.

Of course this is hear say on my part

Only seen one flat way while watching and he had an orange fitted
Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

Biffa

I have to say, all my OrangeRX receivers have out performed the genuine Spektrum RX';s I have

I';m also aware that people have favourites and will blame anything that isn';t made by their preferred manufacturer

Bloody superstitious lot.

Well that';s why I say its hearsay on my part.

I used to only buy spektrum

Until I';d had enough of there constant recalls

Not saying anything about orange but spectrum

Found out why rtl didn';t work - tiny hidden connection had popped off.
So when I put it back together I think I';ll put it on pillars!
