Thanks the crap screws that TBS supplied with the Discovery frame I';m in need of some more - decent replacements!

Can anyone advise on a supplier where I can source M2.5*4.5 and M3*6.5';s?  TBS';s have a step but I';m sure I can manage without them?  Or perhaps a supplier who can sell me DJI screws as I presume they are the same as in the F450 and F550 frame kits?

GOOGLE  Modelfixings.  Good seller.  he has been recommended on here a while ago.
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

Brilliant, thank you both. Have ordered some from the eBay seller and sent an enquiry to ModelFixings. If they can supply the same type with the step I';ll order from them as well.

I was in the same situation.

I had eveything ready - RX, VTX, Naza, Motors, Speed Controllers, Skews, Camera, Voltage Regulator, wiring made up for the OSD ready to go. The Discovery was delivered and the entire build has ground to a halt due to the poor quality scews supplied. I tried to use them but ended up dropping the whole lot in the bin!  :

I';ve ordered from an EBay seller also, Hopefully they will be delivered tomorrow.  :wack0

I moaned about this in my build thread.  I';d seen mention of the crap screws but TBS claimed they';d sorted the issue some time back so I was mighty pi**ed off to find mine were so poor. Out of 20 arm screws, only 8 are of any use, and of the frame screws, more than half are crap too.

It';s one thing when you buy some no name Chinese frame but these TBS frames aren';t cheap, £60 for two plates, so it';s damned annoying when you then have to go and source screws as well

I agree DarrenG - I wasn';t best please, I heard about issue';s but was also under the impression they had sorted it.

Anyhow I';ve just got home from work and my screws are here! Yay. I got them from the link below, sold in lots of 10 for 99p!!

And they';re strong. As a test I';ve just over-tightened a few and they haven';t sheered nor has the head rounded! woohoo :) Build time...

Link to the page I ordered from.

DarrenG

Which sizes did you get?  The sizes on the TBS screws seem to be for the threaded portion only, not the shoulder as well.  So I';m not sure when I place an order if I should be selecting the total length inc shoulder?

I ordered M2.5X5mm for the arms. The rear arm screw holes go all the way through but the forward ones only take upto 5-6mm

The M3';s I ordered for the posts were M3x8mm.

I';m impressed with them. Everything';s nice and tight :)

Brill thanks, ordered some of them too. Always come in handy and I';d rather have bags off them unused than be scrounging around for some that aren';t rounded off!
