What batteries should I use..?

So I';ve been flying my quad in a few different variants as I';ve been learning what does and doesn';t work..

Various designs but all close to 450 size.  The current version is based on a SK450 frame.  2830 1000kv motors, 30a multistar ESC';s, naza m controller, fatshark transmitter + FPV camera + GoPro.  I think thats the main components that make it up, I now realise you';re probably going to ask me what it weighs, ummm...  I';ll get back to you.

I';m using these batteries at the moment:  http://www.giantshark.co.uk/gens-3300-lipo-battery-p-406473.html

I plumped for them at the time as they seemed reasonably priced with a decent capacity.

Are these a good choice or should I think of going for something different?  I set my alarm for 7 minutes at the moment which gives me a reasonable time to come back and land.  Putting back about 2600mah I think on recharging.

Is there a sweet spot between how much a battery weighs and its capacity?  Wondering if I should go for higher or lower mah?

Oh yeah forgot that bit of information, currently using 9"x4.7 slow fly prop.

You don';t want to discharge your batteries by any more than 60%  to start with i.e. 40% left. There is a fine line between weight and capacity and the Zippy compacts are one of the best batteries to get when this is an issue.
4S is more efficient but you would need to be sure that all of your system is compatible. Once run in you can discharge by 75%, as I do at present but this is the most I would ever discharge a battery.

Cool so I';m not far off at 78% then

Those zippy batteries look good and light but another different connector  :banghead:

You try putting a xt60 on a zippy 5800 which as 8 swg leads , I cut the plugs off and was stuck how to put a xt60 on it.

guest325

And if you do decide to change the plugs make sure you don';t cut both leads together  ::)  ::)  ::)

You can get XT90';s for the larger wires  ~~

That would have been the easy way to do it , but to be honest I didn`t know they was a xt90 .
