Anyone into rewinding motors

Just managed to knacker 4/5 motors by using mounting bolts that were too long and they aren';t woking properly now. One';s completely dead and the others spin up a bit but with little power then stop. I guess I';ve damaged the winding and wondering if anyone fancied having a go repairing them? I know it';s a long shot but thought I';d ask as it';s not something I know anything about and wouldn';t know where to start.

Hi mate, they are Turnigy D2636 1000kv. To say I was gutted is a understatement! lol

Yosser70

they are listed as 1100kv but Turnigy put the wrong labels on them apparently!

Thanks for that John, PM me your address and I';ll get one off to you mate. I watched a couple of videos about rewinding and it';s not the sort of thing I';d feel confident taking. Knowing a little about guitar pickups and what goes into winding them I guess there';s a lot you can do by rewinding motors differently as pickups use the same sort of winding. Some guitarists only like high end pickups wound buy a certain person at the factory!

When I started with brushless motors I wound a few myself just to prove I could  :azn

I rewound CD Rom motors then moved on to buying various bells and stator kits and various wire guages and wound quite a few - but it';s really hard work and VERY fiddly..... and it hurts your fingers ... and in my opinion just not worth the hassle  :hmm:

There';s different types of wind .... Wye wind - Delta Wind - different numbers of turn - different gauges of wire - different magnets .... it';s endless and mind numbing ......

Buy new motors - put it down to experience  ~~
