CABLES/WIRING

  :hmm:
Just an idle thought.  I have been wondering, whether wiring hung on the outside of frames (as a lot are) affect the aerodynamics of the  model during flight?   particularly with a breeze and the model in hover.

The HAL frame and  others with tube frames could well have their ESC wiring put down the inside of the tubes
( assuming the tubing had sufficient diameter ).

Don';t suppose we will know without a wind tunnel test!  As I said..just an idle thougth.
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

From the VERY little I know Ross I';d suggest your average multi has the aerodynamic properties of a house brick.  Clearly you don';t want loops of wire flapping in the breeze but I don';t imagine having them hidden or neatly fastened to the frame';s outside would make a jot of difference.  Nice idea though and an hour or 2 wind tunnel time would be interesting, we need a member who works at Cranfield.

From the way they fall out of the sky on here..yes..brick sounds about right!!   Mind you anything without wings is basically a brick....Good fun though.
Good flying day here.  Bright sunshine  +14 and NO WIND and I have been dragged out shopping

I';ve noticed a correlation between my crashes and fair weather. Always the day after the weather is perfect! Grr! :-( I';ll try and warn everyone next time :-)
