APM with MinimOSD and 3DR

Hi guys,

Just been thinking about how I will do all the wiring for my FPV system and I just wanted to run it past someone who is a bit more knowledgeable than myself to double check I';m not doing something wrong.

I would like to be able to use my 3DR radio telemetry while also using an OSD (minimOSD in this case), so for this I';m going to need to splice the cable from the telemetry port on my APM to split the tx signal between the 3DR and the minim. I';m also wondering about powering the two devices off the same split cable or if I should route the minim into one of the unused aux pins power.

To further complicate matters I';ve got a step up adapter to turn the 5v out from my tx into 12v for the camera, and the minimOSD is version 1.0 which has a habit of frying itself so I have had to do the modification to bypass the 12v voltage regulators (as seen here and here). I';m doing it on a separate battery system with a little 1300mah 3s. Hopefully this should give me enough juice for at least an hour of flying FPV.

Cheers for reading through my garbled mess of thoughts!
I reverse polarities for fun.

I can';t comment on the step up side of things for camera as I use a 5v camera but I do have 3dr and minim osd spliced into same connection on my crius aiop without any issues.

Okay wicked, that';s the main thing I';m worried about really. Instead of butchering my only cable I';m going to make a new one so that if I want to I can go back to an FPV-less system and not have a load of spare wiring all spliced together.

my setup is
telemetry plugged in to usual place direct wires
osd plugged into header pins on side of board using uart 0 with a 3 wire servo cable VCC/GRND/TX
saves butchering cables and keeps it all separated

my camera is a 12v and only run the grnd and vid through the osd from cam to VTX and power runs straight to the VTX
