Someone in work showed me this article,  which shows video of the what is believed to be the first recorded instance of a life being saved by a ';Drone'; in a search and rescue situation.

What a brilliant use for multis and hope that this will be used more for positive applicatuons like this, especially if battery technology allows much longer flight times.

Good news.
Lot of moronic comments on that  page though...as is  usual from the uninformed
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

If this new development materialises the use of these machines for this type of thing (plus other not so appealing things) will become a lot more viable, also think about the knock on effect it could have on our chosen hobby!

Guess what you need is a heavy lift, with decent flight time, a gimbal that can cary a daylight and FLIR cameras &  ground station with the ability to see from both cameras.

Who fancies starting up UAV search and rescue?
