Flying my quad into my camper van...

hmm... so was flying my paramotor yesterday, and after the flight, took my ardufly based quad out for its first FPV flight.

All went well - I even tested land, rtl, alti and loiter mode and all are working well (though RTL and loiter do a bit of going around in circles - but I understand that';s easily fixed).

so got a bit braver, and flew a bit more aggressively - then the video cut out.

I upped the throttle, but it took me a few seconds to find it in the sky - get orientation and fly it back - and I was a bit worried about battery going flat at this point.

Now of course - switching it to RTL mode (the one I had just sucessefully tested) would have been a good idea... but that did not come to me... no I decided to fly it back to me as quick as I could....

it';s funny how when it';s far away you don';t really get a feel for the speed its going....

by the time I realised it was ';coming in hot'; I just had time to watch it ';nearly'; clear the top of my campervan at full speed (40mph+ ?).

it munted itself off the skylight, and distributed itself into a selection of parts over the next 20m or so....

the gopro, battery and back all in different areas.

amazingly only a leg and 2 props knackered so easily fixed.

campervan got off worse off - the plexiglass skylght cracked down one side.... however could have been worse if it had went into the side of the van rather than clip the top.

hey ho - all in a days flying  :frantic:

Wow lol but where';s the vid O0

Oh yeah you said video cut but was that live feed cut from gopro going flat?

powerlord

Alas no - it was my old gopro hd. And for some reason it just stopped recording half way through.. Then again I suppose it would look like that if it hasn';t finished writing the file...maybe I can recover it - ill gave a go
