Gaza - can you make the subject line section in the forum topic list wider? It's cutting off the subject field really short.

Had another negative encounter, it's been a few years since the last one, just an uneducated ******, going on about drones being illegal yada yada yada.    :-/
Still that didn't spoil my flying time, had an absolute blast  ~~

Is it worth a visit

As a complete novice is a visit to Weston Park Model Air Show next weekend worthwhile?  What I am hoping for is to see numerous dealers and hopefully pick up some parts as well as handle a few transmitters to help make my mind up what to buy.  Are dealers, shops and the like in plentiful attendance or have I completely got the wrong idea of what to see and expect?  Any details at what happens at an Air Show will be gratefully received

I went to weston park some years ago when I was only flying planes it is well worth the visit there will be lots of traders there with special offers and like you said you get to have a feel of the tx,s to see if you like them,
there will be some awesome models on display static and flying, while i was there the red arrows also put on a display which was spectacular I couldnt beleive how low they came and passing in front of us inverted at 400mph  :o

Exactly the answer I was hoping for Gaza, especially the ';special offers'; bit.  This could turn out to be an expensive weekend.  Thanks for the reply.

Go for it John you know you want to     ~~

The lads in chat tell me every time I go in there it costs them a fortune I have no clue as to what they mean

It is usually a really good show.  It is local to me so I will be there on the Sunday and hope to pick up some bargains.  There are usually plenty of traders there and also some craft etc traders if you have a good lady that wants to go.

Can't find a spanner ? Pass me a hammer !

This just gets better, I was worried about taking the ';good lady'; win me as I am sure she has no interest in ESCs or balancing propellers. Being able to deposit here in the craft fair (with 2/6d for an ice cream) sounds like the makings of a good day out.

Yes it is worth it some bargains to be had there depends on what you want.I will be going down Friday mourning early as my mate owns Cambrian planes said I could help him.

Well I went and got wet and got amazed but more importantly she who puts hands on hips and throws sideways looks also got amazed.  By luck and certainly not by any on-site signage we found the helicopter area where they all seemed to ****** a snoot at any laws of aerodynamics apart from spectacularly coming apart when the distance between the air and ground reached a negative number - what did that 1 oops moment cost Midland Helicopters?  We both were particularly impressed by a 12 year old throwing a helicopter about that was as long as he was tall.  But what of all the quad copters?  Nil, Zlich Nada.  Unless I was looking in the wrong places I didn';t see one much less a frame or three that I was hoping to choose to start my project from.  Plenty of batteries, motors and ESCs etc but then with reality suddenly staring me in the face I realised I was well out of my league, hadn';t a clue was I looking for (or even at) so ended up buying nil, zilch and nada;  back to more research on the internet I guess and this time I will build up a proper shopping list.  A good day out and already in the diary for next year.  One criticism however was the man with microphone in the flying park, did he ever shut up?  Yes introduce the pilot and the aircraft but then let the flying do the talking.  I don';t need to be told its flying upside down or he has just turned the smoke on or it';s Father';s Day tomorrow or it';s...

So how come no multi-rotors? Are they not considered model aircraft?   In looking around the local area for a local RC club the impression I got from the [very] few websites is that these vehicles are not regarded much, if at all.  Ah well, being a social pariah isn';t so bad  :nananana:

In the world of radio control flying multi rotors are still very new and some of the clubs that still live in the dark ages havent even heard of them yet but they will  ~~  :beer2:
