Battery puffed :-(

Bit annoyed, I got two 50 quid batteries when I started building my quad, 5000mah 4S 20C. One got stabbed by a bit of carbon tube in a crash, and our last remaining one just got very slightly puffy yesterday.

I wondered what to do, we stupidly let it discharge lower than it should have. Should I try and recharge it?

Gaza07

I have over discharged mine quite a few times before and had them puff slightly, most of the times it has just gone back down on its own after a charge,
Just don't ever leave lipo's charging unattended  ~~
Let us know how you get on with it  ;)

Im gonna charge it slowly at 1 amp or something and il put it somewhere where an explosion wont be a problem.

Ive got an old cheiftain tank in the garden, il put it on that.

Hah, battery charged up at 2amps seems fine. Did a balance, seems fine. All seems fine.

I blew the tank up for other reasons, its ok though only scratched a bit of paint off hah.

I was gonna ask, ive seen lots of ultra cheap chinese batteries on ebay, ship from hongkong etc. Are these OK? 50 quid a battery with one battery dead and the other one suspicious, this has been the most expensive part so far. There are some on ebay same spec as my 50 quid orange ones, £16.98....

Gaza07

I would stick to getting your batteries from Hobby King they might even have them at the UK warehouse now  ~~

One of the links is the UK warehouse the other are the euro warehouse which is also very good and no customs to pay and delivery is quite quick too

....I had absolutly no idea hobbyking had UK or euro warehouses. This changes everything.

Thanks for that.
