180 degree control direction change mid flight suddenly happening ????

Anyone had this:

v2.8

been fine for many flights.

Only changes I';ve made were to add a different gimbal on front, and move battery further to  rear to balance.

I am flying in stabilise with simple ticked.

At first I thought what was happening was that sometimes it was losing the ';simple mode'; and reverting to normal flying.

However, it is weirder than that...

In the last flight, I took off with it facing north - and simple mode. I flew it for a bit, and kept it heading north.

after about a minute or so, suddenly the controls are reveresed and now it thinks its facing south even though it is still facing north.

First time this happened I nearly crashed it as I _thought_ it had simply reverted to normal mode, and tried to fly it as if the red arms were at the front (as usual)... with near disasterous consequences.

In summary:

- it seems to fly in simple mode ok for a bit, then for some reason decided that the back is the front - continues to fly in ';simple'; mode, but now is 180 degree out.

I can try a calibration - but I';ve changed nowt - and the GUI shows the heading rotating as you';d expect as I rotate it.

any ideas ?

I can try 2.9 but really don';t want to be just trying things randomly to sort it.

is your compass on auto declination

there have been issues where after a time the compass builds up errors in auto and then goes out of wack
most people now are setting there compass up with manual declination and turning off all the auto compass stuff to solve this type of issue

Are you using different servos on the Gimbal ?..

Also how are you powering the Gimbal servos ?...

Just wondering if the new gimbal servos are causing a brown out intermittently.. or possible causing interference with the MAG.. try winding servo cables around a ferrite ring if they aren';t already.

I had same thoughts . Brushless gimbal so motors no servos.

And of course motors have those big magnet thing in em...

Also I mounted gimbal in line with controller for ';sleekness';

Hmmm
