Looking for a new pro airframe - DJI F550 perhaps?

Hello all!

Looking for a bit of advice please :)

I have a Vulcan 1200mm Hexa which is my flagship aircraft for the business! Looks awesome, does what it needs to do, has all the toys etc etc.

I';m now looking for something smaller, lighter, not so hard to transport. So my thoughts turned to the DJI F550. Seems cheap and cheerful, built for my preferred FC which is the Naza in this case (Have WKM on the Vulcan).

My concerns however turn to the electronics included with the kits. I understand the DJI props are useful for stirring paint and that';s about it! Also, the DJI motors force you to use their props I believe (?) so they have to go. What do people recommend? I use tiger motors on the big hexa (3515-400kv running 6S) and I like them a lot.

At the moment I will only be looking to haul a Go-Pro 3 and some sort of brushless gimbal. Nice and easy for small scale jobs and light structural surveying work.

Any thoughts anyone has would be much appreciated :)

Cheers

Dani

I';ve got my eye on their 450 kit.

I use torxpower 900kv motors on dji 550 arms with graupner 9x5 props and they are spot on
If someone throw's a stone at you throw a flower at them just remember to throw the pot with it.

Thanks for the feedback gents!

Are those Torx motors made by the same group that make Tiger motors? They look almost exactly the same as the T2212/ 800kvs!

mickyt

Hi Dani_r yes made by the same people team black sheep get the same motors just have their name on theirs quadcopter uk have them made to the spec but their the same motors just a different colour scheme mine are on my TBS Discovery and that flys really well.

Friskle

So long as you use Props with an 8mm bore, they can also be used on the DJI motors, so your not totally stuck with using just DJI props.
