Hi, another noobie question, I notice my IFLY-4 making a lot of either beeping or screeching on occasion, is this normal. Its hard to work out what is making the sound with all the prop noise.

If it is the FC beeping what is it trying to tell me ?

I dont really know anything about the Ifly controller but maybe its a battery warning sound, if you could catch it doing it on video then post it here it might help  ~~

I doubt its that, I';m still learning so short hovering inside only just now to get the hang if it, so full batteries no load etc. I';ll see if I can catch it on video.

if its screeching maybe there';s a dry bearing some where?

if its a bleeping what does the manual say?
Point and click.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

The beeping and/or screeching is the low battery warning. At a guess you';re using a 20c rated lipo yeah? The I-Fly4 needs atleast a 30c rated lipo to provide enough juice. I had the same issue when I purchased mine......I was using a 2200mah 20c lipo.

It is very easy to dry a battery just with short test hovers and setting stuff up. I have done it many times.

All the little test hops soon add up and I believe you get far less out of a battery pack doing this than you do when flying. Bit like driving a car, stop start in traffic uses more fuel than on a nice steady run over the same distance.

AH! close 2200 25C , I do hope that is the problem. I have asked the model shop to get me a few spare parts so I';ll collect a bigger battery then too.

I have cut the motors a few times to avoid a collision with the furniture ( I know I shouldn';t really be flying indoors ) and have bent a landing skid, the top has flown off and was caught by a prop and its split.

I was stupid enough to think that because it has a giro it would just sit there waiting for me to move it. A giro is not SatNav control  :banghead:

Thanks for all the replies  :beer2:

Ah you must be doin'; okay then since we';ve all done that! lol. Luckily my shroud only got a few chunks taken out the back end so I just cut it a little shorter. You can put a zip-tie/cocktail stick etc through the eyelets in the four plastic pins which secure the shroud on, this prevents the shroud from becoming detached during flight.

Not sure if you';re aware of this place for I-Fly spares - http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/helicopter-spares/standard-spares/iflight/ifly4-quadcopter.html

They';re really good on price and are very quick :).

Great tips and a good site, I';ve ordered the carbon fibre props and skid foam  ;)

The screeching was the battery low warning, I managed to replicate it today and changed the battery, the sound stopped
