Getting there

I';ve been building my Quad since before Christmas, a bit here and there as funds and time allows.  Today, the LiPo';s arrived so finally gave me a chance to get the ESCs powered up and to check if all was well.

Had to re-visit some of my soldering on the APM 2.5 board, but all appears good now.

Seems I need to ';jump start'; my board and ESCs!  Spent a while scratching my head trying to work out why nothing would happen after I armed it; it would appear that my ESCs (which I did import from China) are a bit nasty and don';t talk too nicely to the board.  After reading the Wiki, its a known issue that requires me to boot the board via USB first, then apply power via the LiPo';s.

So, put it all back together, checked prop rotations and configured the telemetry radio kit.

Just now need to ensure the props are in place correctly, apply liberal amounts of locktite in places and should be ready for it';s maiden flight this weekend, weather permitting!

I`ve found the best way to test the motors is by using mission planner .
Terminal  cli  > setup > motor , which gives a quick pulse to each motor in turn.
That way you will know if the esc`s are correctly calibrated , the props are spinning the right way , and the right order .
My problem I had it first was calibrating the esc`s individually instead of all at once .
