Hi guys.
do any of you vave any experience of these?
I dont seem to have any power to my XM+ 
It's not lighting up, i have also tried plugging in an XSR which also doesn't even light up. the boards not dead as it works on Betaflight when plugged into my MBP.
Do i need to turn anything on in Betaflight?
i have watched a few vids on youtube but in those vids they just seem to work 
i'm hoping its not DOA as i bought it new & unoped from someone which would only add to problems with any warranty issues

What you are describing likely has nothing to do with the model of quad or likely any betaflight setting.

Under most circumstances and with most FC's powering the quads Flight Controller with USB would power the Rx as well.  What is the Flight Controller, it must say in the spec??

Do you not have a meter that you can check the feed to the Rx with?

Plugging in another Rx is bad faulting policy, what if the wiring was wrong and putting excessive or crossed polarity voltage to the Rx?  You'd now maybe have two blown Rx!

Please draw the wiring of Rx to FC inc any pad markings.

Props OFF and try plugging in a lipo and see if the rx lights up. I do have an R349 (not HD) but it's not to hand now as I am just having a cuppa before I get back to fence painting. If lipo power doesn't work do as Bad Raven suggested and draw or take photos of the connections and I will have a look at mine later.

Sorry for slow reply but been away for a few days.
yes i did get the RX to power up when i plugged a battery in 
i felt daft for not thinking to try that earlier, everything else i have plugged in has all powered up from USB 
i was running out of time with it on friday morning as i was going over to the farm for a long weekend.
After i got the RX bound the channels were all wrong on the radio & it took a little while for me to find the option to change it. it has quite a new version of betaflight on it & although i selected the Frsky TX option the channels were all wrong, i clicked the JR option & it put them all in the right place    tad frustrating but sorted now. gave it a quick test hover in the garden & its a lively little bugger.
i think i'm going to have to calm it down in the settings a bit

Well done. RX power does vary between boards, you are not the first to not know you sometimes need lipo.
As for taming it you might be worth turning your rates down a little. Maybe even throttle limiting or scaling.
