I know several people with the "scaled down Futaba" model, (you know, the multi-module with sticks       ) but none so far in my direct circle have this one.

Frankly, I find Mr UAVFUTURES to be unduly extreme in his opinions and over the top in his commenting on most things.

He's also late on parade.

I'm very tempted.  My original Taranis is getting a bit long in the tooth and I can't buy a new one as they no longer support D8 mode.  Half my receivers are D8!

That of course depends where you buy from, also OpenTX allows the choice to still be made.
For example, there are Horus X12S in Euro form running D8 under OpenTX.

Bear in mind that the Taranis (as distinct from the Taranis Plus) has a screen that is no longer made, and the Plus one requires differing PCB hardware, so is not economically swappable.
