Screechy ESC start sound.

Totally cosmetic, but my ESC startup sounds make a NASTY screech sound rather than the nice little tune that I used to get on other ones.
They're Spedix ES25's if I recall.

I tried going into the ESCMulti tool to reset the tune, and I heard it play nicely from there, so I think it might be something during the FC startup sequence (Butterflight) that's causing a clash, maybe driving it's own sound or turning on active damping that messes with the sound? - any clues?

Interesting.  The ESC screech noise is usually timing wrong for motor wind, but that is not heard until you throttle up, not if, as you say, at boot up (unless booting straight into air mode?). As normally there are FC startup noises that need to be paid attention to, the ESC boot noises are usually turned off.

Foreign object in the motor?
Magnet loose?
Worn bearings?

Thats what Id be looking at, as I expect you probably already have

Nah, it's always done this, and on two different sets of motors.
Motors run nicely. Just cleaned them and ran them in the BuF configurator and all sound sweet as can be - I just thought I'd try reserting the startup sound while I had it on the bench 'cos it's been annoying me.
You can kind of hear the 1-2-3... 1-3 sound bit it's more like 1-2-3... SCREE-EEEE

Hmmmm, that's the throttle beeps, have you told the ESCs the throttle end points?
