Does anyone still record their flights?

These days I don't record my flights as much unless I'm doing something special, for everyday flying I just put the goggles on and enjoy it.  ~~
Just wondering what others opinions are.
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

I video some flights, not all as storage is a bugger, and to be honest we record, maybe put on youtube and then not likely to look at video again, think i need to start deleting some older stuff on the hard drive, also i am getting more and more into electric gliders, got ranger 1200 and ranger 1600 got walrus 1400 and i do see a 2400 coming in the next 12 months, most of my glider flying i dont record it
Volantex Ranger 1600/2000, Ranger 1200 G2, Phoenix S 1600 AR900 Miniskyhunter, ZOHD Dart 635 and a few 680 batwings plus old faithful C1 chaser and a lot of eagletree guardians

If i'm flying a wing and there is wildlife about  i put a separate camera on as the recording from the Fatsharks is terrible.
Reptile folder , alien 500 , F/ Shark Attitudes,

i video everything and shove it all unlisted onto youtube.  it's unlimited storage and makes your footage extremely accessible.

what has helped me archive onto youtube is to concatenate all of the days footage into one video. One HD and one DVR.

Indoor Sports Hall and Outdoor I tend to record every flight, but then while memory of the flights still fresh I check and store to YouTube Unlisted only anything potentially useful. I record all the school club footage (mostly Whoovers) and "publish" only to club members the results. I do not normally store the (many!) round the house/garden flights, but will record in case I do anything worth showing anyone (which is rare!!  ;)

A couple of my more heavily used indoor fleet have micro AIO with onboard DVR which obviously gives better video where a HD camera would be unusable.

In recorded two flights today as I wanted to check a couple of points.  Checked recording had started (flashing red spot in headset), Stopped recording and checked flashing red dot stopped before disconnecting battery (though the VRX being used is capable of ending a recording anyway).

Back at home only one recording, not two, and that only 2048 long and not recognised as a video.

SIGH....................     :banghead:  :banghead:

atomiclama

Yeah I record a lot of mine just don't post them. As they are either boring or I don't want to get told off.

Oooh, I like that, atomiclama. I don't do FPV, but thinking of Whooping up around the garden. I feel my credit card tingling.

What are you flying? Is it really on 1S, or is the voltmeter showing something else?
Potensic F181DH  -  Ghost 250 (blue)  -  Cheerson CX-10/A  -  Syma X11C  -  FQ777-FQ17W  -  Eachine E57  -  BetaFPV 65S  -  Robocat 280 (in build)  -  Ghost 250 LED (in build) - And lots of broken stuff!

It's the average cell voltage, I fly a mixture of 4,5 and 6S so find it taxing on my little brain  working out what voltage I need to land at. So just keep and eye on that level it's the same for all setups. They are really sh$te batteries, sag badly and have nowhere near their stated capacity but were cheap so I don't mind abusing them.

The quad is a an iFlight X7 clone running 6inch props, 2306 2100kv motors and is good for about 2K out and back not pushed it any further yet as I'm still playing with props and tuning.

I'll try and avoid a telling off either way then

However, your video posted here has by frame shielding of the camera image a very much narrowed field of view, and I wonder why you live with that restriction, what is gained by it?

Also, over time I have gradually reduced the OSD data displayed on screen during a flight to a minimum, cutting out all the screen real estate sapping "information" that IMO is not needed DURING a flight as IMO it only serves to obscure and distract, limiting vision of what IS needed, which IMO is as much spacial information as possible.

I run "live" with at most the minimum centre horizon marker as this helps to show up side slip, and with pack voltage, as I have no trouble with mental cell count, that's it, all the rest is direct scenic locational awareness information. Post flight OSD info is another matter.

atomiclama

OK the "frame getting in the way of the FOV" well I'm just lazy thats where the mounting holes for the camera lined up and I couldn't be arsed to drill some more, anyway it was a freebee camera that has now been replaced by a foxeer monster which fits properly and I can no longer see the frame, props well that's another matter.

As to the OSD layout well that's fluid I'm playing around with it to see what's use full and what's not. Different fonts etc etc. What I currently have is: -

Top
RSSI and GPS these get monitored to see how I'm doing. If the GPS is low then I don't trust the rescue and don't go far.

Left Current info Don't use these as much apart from voltage. Will probably trim down abit.
Height
Speed
AVG Voltage

Right Total Info, all used to judge how I'm doing with regard to battery. I know roughtly how far I can fly and how long.
Flight time
Distance

Bottom these are the where the F am I bit of info for when I get lost  :whistling:
Home direction and distance.
GPS Coords

Current monitor is not working at the mo.
Horizon bar is going as it is pointless and never gets used.

Probably more than is needed but I have learnt to see through the OSD to enjoy the view.

Clear Cache, yes, no change. Have just found that std theme shows OK, Lunafall does not (though it did!). have swapped between and back, that does not correct.

Gaza07

Ive just checked the lunarfall theme and the like button doesnt show for me either unless there is already a like on it then it does, I will try to contact the themes author see what he says about it  ~~
