Crikey.. Was I gone that long??

Well, due to a number of job changes, kids getting older (now 6 and 3) and general life stuff, I dropped off for a wee bit (possibly about a year!). Now I've got time to get back to flying I surfed on in and everything's changed.

Still, great to see so many familiar names again. And Gaza07 & Hoverfly are STILL active in the shoutbox! 

My wife's happier 'cos when I was dropping in daily and DarrellW posted a new toy I'd go out and buy one too. Cost me a fortune that bloke!!    Can't wait to see what else he's been buying.. credit card ready...

Nice to see you back. Been a bit quite, thinks moving very fast. As always things getting smaller, faster, easier and prices don't seem to be going up too much 
I assume you are aware of the registration system coming in November for anyone lying over 250gms quads/planes etc?

Hi Ched - Yes, my flying club's been quite active with their emails about this. Yet another tax for those flying properly... Those using UAVs for nefarious activity will just do it anyway. Just like they do with cars, motorbikes, computers, mobile phones, tea towels, wardrobes... everything 

Perhaps if those of us who registered were able to fly at those parks and areas that have a blanket "no powered flight" clause, I'd sign up like a shot!

Heh. Oddly, I also tend to do about 40 mins or so with fixed wing before rounding off the day with a couple of multis. My S550 suffered a catastrophic power failure at about 150ft and was written off. I was annoyed as I was testing a new gimbal!! The bits are in my shed while I decide what to do.

In the meantime, I'm going all Tiny Whoop for some back garden FPV action. My property - my rules!
