Household insurance - completely off topic but could save you money!!!

You probably all know this but just in case you don't:

Household insurance due for renewal this month so received the renewal quote from Tesco. I had to dig a bit into the previous years cost as the renewal seemed high. It had almost doubled, no claims etc!

So I checked on Money Supermarket (where we got the policy from last year) and the same policy from Tesco was £3 more than last year!
I rang Tesco to see if they would match their quote from Money Supermarket! They dropped the renewal by £20 (8%ish). But said that they don't price match and maybe Money Supermarket were giving me a discount!! So I said I will go elsewhere.

Then I followed the Money Supermarket link to Tesco as they had items covered that other policies didn't, then the Tesco page asked for my Clubcard number and BINGO another £30 off. So the policy was now almost £30 cheaper than last year.

So to sum up NEVER accept a renewal quote as you can save huge amounts even from the same provider!!!

Just use the money you saved on more quad stuff  ::)

It's always worth spending a bit of time shopping around, Ched. My car insurance (with LV) went up over £100 since last year. No claims since 1992 (when someone parked on my motorbike), plus we've moved to a better area.

Checking the Meerkats I found an equivalent policy £120 cheaper. LV could only drop £30, so I went elsewhere.

Not wanting to get political, but insurance companies are the worst scammers on the planet!!
