Test flew my whoop with the alienwhoop zero board with silverware on it.

I'm not one for jumping on a hypetrain, but my, silverware is quite a different and more controllable animal than brushed BF.

Had a great day flying today. One of the lads got some gates and cones and we setup a tight course. Lap after lap my flying was improving. Much better altitude control and getting the sharp turns right.
We were all crashin loads and getting through the props but it was fun and improved our flying skills.

Thanks, I just stuck a Runcam on the 2mtr  plank. The heat coming off the fields was   providing great lift plus there was  some slope lift.
Might be worth hanging on to the DJI depending on how much you will get for it.. :hmm:

Woo, 2 1/2 hours of fun! (Multiple fliers and spotters, hence the time taken)

Flew the whole fleet, didn't crash, it was AWESOME!!!!

The whoop got a big field to play in and bar a weird yaw thing coming through prop wash, it worked really well. Glad I bought the Alienwhoop Zero, certainly a big difference compared to my betaflight FC.

The Babyhawk-R flew nicely, but I need to swap the battered props as they had some funny vibrations, but I got 3-4min of flight time so that was good.

The 4 inch flew like the bonkers little machine it is.

Even the cursed 5 inch appeared to fly well and eat the amps it was supposed to without cooking an esc, so maybe, maybe, next time I will attempt with go pro attached. I'm going to have a gander through the blackbox logs tonight and see if there's anything there.

But NO CRASHES!!!! YAY!!! No repairs!!!  :beer2: :beer2: :beer2: :beer2: :beer2:

I flew my C1 chaser a few times today, had a fly with my Ranger 1600, interesting landing, more like abandoned in the next county, bloody long walk to fetch it!
Also it was maiden of the little Ranger G2 1200 pusher, crashed on first try, no harm, then got it up and flying but not overjoyed with it and the hobby eagle A3-l was useless, i ended up getting young Matt to get the G2 up and flying

Nice day out. That G2 sounds like it's got a duff bearing , or maybe just a sore throat.
Have you set up any braking on the planks as they seem to have a high landing speed.?

Not liking the G2 so far, its future is undecided, as the whole project was a fail, what with the hobby eagle A3 not doing its job right and yes the G2 does sound rough......the fast landings are my bad flying, should have seen the ranger 1600, managed to get it in slow but way to far away, might put a link to ......in fact i will put a link to the 1600 being followed by Steven, flying his (my old) blacking 680, this is well worth watching all the way through, i took of and after a few mins with steve chasing it, i got a watery eye so passed TX to Russell will i sorted my eye out, russ then started to do lovely loops and stuff and of course steve had goggles on and did not know we had swapped, he was shouting "wow your really getting brave" lol

Thermals, thermals, thermals, thermals everywhere.  nearly lost the 2mtr plank, took ages getting it down.... :sweating: :sweating: :sweating:

Yea, I was at the club power field and the thermals were booming, best ever I think. Shame I was at that location really as the club field is strictly 120m due airfield proximity (yes we do have airfield ATC permissions and yes we are on NOTAMs).

At one point I was flying a symmetrical wing 3D Twist 40 (with 53 engine) at around 80m max and even THAT was cruising around not wanting to descend with throttle closed.

My 2204-2300kV  motored 280 ate one of its near new 2200mAh 80-120C HD batteries early and went into LVC suddenly, now that didn't glide.....................   (No damage). It had a Mobius on it.  :sweating:

I'd publish but its not very exciting, the balance port screamer alarm set to 3.5v as usual fired briefly, and usually another half minute is fine. Not yesterday.

However, as it happened I immediately turned back towards the strip, and yet still didn't make it.  On video it just looks like a short landing approach!!

As I walked to get it the Tx telemetry (FlySky FS-i6) started wailing that Rx voltage was zero.  For a couple of seconds I wondered what the specific noise was as I have never heard that alarm before!! :o

Bottom Line, I had the screamer alarm on the balance port, I had FC alarming on, and I had OSD battery voltage indication, and it STILL managed to plummet so fast without enough warning so they all were no use!  Quad flew again briefly on test and seems fine.

Was 32C and no breeze at all at the time.  The Velcro held battery on the back strap plate facing sun fell off on a later flight, luckily the battery connector didn't part!!  :blink  I'm about to sew a strap on it as well!!

Put 6 packs through the sabotageRC Dingo 6 today, slowly learning airm mode I have a tendancy to forget which way is up.

Flips and rolls seem slow motion on the 6" and I seem to lose a lot of altitude as well..

Took the WRA race wing out for a blast, it was very gusty and it's the only thing i would fly in those conditions.
It just gets better and better, Ive reduced the elevon throws to 18 mm  and got some 35c batts.

Goggle footage is good. Curry Kitten has just done a review of some little HD cameras on youtube. I have not watched yet but his reviews are normally good honest ones. I think 1 of the cameras is quite cheap.

Just watching vid and one cam £12 the other £18!! So nice and cheap.

Nice and sunny here, just about to finish my cuppa then out to fly  ::)

Lets put it this way, my very large and totally empty water butt was full again well before lunch, and as I write the rain is hammering down,  bouncing 50+ mm back off the wife's car roof. Its lessened a couple of times, but not stopped.

Still, the garage has room for more planes now!!

Not from today, but from last week, however, I forgot to press record on the GoPro and then went on to fly one of my best packs ever ... massive thanks to Jakalas for recording his G-Teng FPV screen so I caught something of this flight

That's why trees branches fork upwards... ;)

Had a few hours testing various antenna  combinations and  digi recorder settings. Gave the Race wing  a sound thrashing , and the Falcon Evo  had it's air speed adjusted as the  Pitot tube needed calibrating, really good fun just cruising it around.
The highlight of the day though was watching an old pensioner mowing the strip.. while i sat drinking coffee.
