  • Reman: Got stuck in traffic yesterday. After an hour I started using my phone (And an OTG cable) to look through the media files on a keyring of my old USB sticks. Found one that had the entire run of "Firefly" on it. I got through 3 episodes before the traffic started moving again....... God, That really was an amazing show.

  • hoverfly: I coated a couple of Slipstreams  a few years ago  It stiffened up the wing nicely .On the down side although it prevented dings when i had an high speed"arrival" it left the resin cracked. and the glass lifted slightly.  Well stuck laminate stiffens the wing and is flexible..

  • DarkButterfly: I'm doing laminate, just put my order in for some, also got some balsa wood for the side parts, had to use a kitchen knife to seperate the foam from the busted wood

Got out to another new spot tonight. Spent 1 hour walking trying to find a way to get to it, eventually got there but only had time for 2 packs each. It was very dense undergrowth so spotting duties were to the max.

Wicked adventures!! :))

Great weather today. My local field had very short grass and it had all yellowed off so no chance of my quad disappearing in a crash. Flew 3 packs and only crashed once. Tbh i was taking it easy. No fancy acro, just cruising about. Clipped a tree branch and went into a tumble, quickly threw the flight mode into angle and managed to get the quad under control before it hit the ground. Still need to get my throttle under control, this thing picks up altitude quick and its only using 5040 props. I'd be all over the place with anything else

Flew my whoop around the garden chasing the kids and building up a bit of a circuit. Those things are so much fun!

I'm currently on holiday, we are in a cottage and I have a bug field to play with

I have flown every day and am building up my courage with the Air-Ro! I have tried FOV a few times but I'm still better LOS especially when it's windy.

I also brought my whoop and have been flying that FPV which is great fun, out of the cottage front door, around the hot tub and back in through the kitchen door!  I guess I'm less worried of losing the whoop or damaging anything?

Went to Belas Knap,  bronze age burial chamber but nobody was in. Wind forecast was 5--6..mph which it was when i got there, by the time i launched there were gusts coming in at around 20 and very lumpy.
When i got back to the car park the chap next to me had had his car broken into, they made a hell of a mess of the windows. To add insult to injury there was a large sign in the hedge with a massive lump of concrete on it saying car thieves operate in this area. The car park at the White horse hill suffers badly as well, mainly targeting cars with models in them /bmfa stickers in the window etc looking for radio gear.. What a cunch of bunts.

Sort of, wind forecast 5-6 knots , blue sky with fluffy bits, so far so good. I got to the site and the temp has gone up.
The light conditions were crappy, very bright,  massively bleached out fields  with deep shadows  and the contrast off the scale. I farted around with N.D. filters but gave up as a few degrees turn on the camera  needed a different one.
Then the wind started, thermals coming through every 5 mins or so.
Had a chat with some public who were very interested in the quad and thought it was  really good,  :o :o, not sure which planet they were from but good P.R.  counts for a  a lot. ;)

Myself and a few good friends went to a rather pleasant site, Steve had c1 chaser, mini talon, harrier wing and eashine 680 wing plus sonic EDF. Russ had s800 and C1 wing, Matt had his X6 wing, and i took my C1 wing and Ranger 1600, did not get to fly Ranger but had a few flights with the lovely C1

Like it, cracking day,  the u.f.o. going past at 4:36 took some catching.  My memory is getting really bad as  i thought you were shelving flying wings as you couldn't fly them, I must be thinking of somebody else. :beer2:

It's nice to watch chasing videos, FPV from the 2nd pilots view

I got loads of flying in on Saturday and Sunday, was getting cooked in this heat but great fun, had a few locals come and spectate, they were impressed (not by my piloting skills but others in the group)
had a battery strap break but i always use 2 so I have a backup
did have some kids on dirt bikes enter our area even though the spotters warned them, the way they were zooming around was dangerous and i couldn't safely land or stay in the air as battery was low so had to do a dive and controlled crash which broke my xt60 pigtail, luckily it was my last pack of the day and an easy fix
but some people are just rude and stupid

Gave the Raven's new receiver with built in stab  a test flight, flew ok but needs a lot of fine adjustment.
Another Raven that i had migrated to Frsky  needed  some flight time  so it had 20 mins of  flopabatics, take it nice and high point down with a quick burst of throttle then throttle off and go nuts.. :wack0

Great ridge to fly... ~~
My only flight went  buns up , holding autopsy later. I had given a Raven a tweaking  so gave it a quick buzz, got halfway around the field when it went loopy and dumped. F/king crappy walk through 12 inch rape stalks, scragged to bits...

Thought about it but then I'm not comfortable promoting something that is basically against the rules on an open site. The odd vid will probably get lost in the noise. I'll stick the the hooligans on FB for this.

Took the  Flyingwings  WRA SPEC Racing wing out for  a buzz. I had flown it before but with the camera removed and a lump of lead to balance it, as i didn't want to mash the camera  if the maiden went squirrely.
Camera back on and it's  loony fast and flying on rails. It's out of spec with the power set i used 2208 /2600kv but  i don't intend racing it. Next it's 4 cells :o :o :o and tear holes in the sky.
