Thanks guys yeah it was lucky. Very lucky. I felt the slight sag on the graphene battery but thought I had enough for one final pass. Errrr I didn';t!:( them batteries just die. Couldn';t see bugger all under the surface. But I got it. I';m sure it will happen again at some point. Just not over a discharged battery!:)

jayjay

Yeah I just checked out that jab1a Chanel that was some great flying there at low level. I subbed his channel, We';re both in the club!:)

I walked for miles through an overgrown footpath  feeding  horse flies, and arrived at an Ironage fort. Had to recalibrate the Phantom three times before it was happy ,  took off and got the airfield proximity warning,!!! I tried the i accept the responsibility for flying , but still no good, the  screen was still obscured by the warning. Staggered back to the car and fed some more horse flies.
Peeed off or what. :banghead:

Hoverfly I feel your pain.
Took Quad and plank to work location had some flights in beautiful weather, some of the best clouds and light all year, first (plank) didn';t record so tested the camera off the plane all good, quad flights didn';t record either, including some shots lined up for a wireless link path check.

I realise I fly some partly for the footage, hate to have nothing to see.

I wont "like" this as i did a similar thing, put the p3 on my back and did a 4 mile round trip, hoping to find an interesting spot to fly from, but did  not find "that spot", at least no horse flies and would not have got the warnng

Happy days this morning at 06:00 as the LHR traffic was on westerlies so all the start of day landing red eyes were turning "just" near enough and frequently enough for the noise to completely mask the tiny asthmatic wheeze of my Inductrix FPV going flat out round my garden and through the pool noodles.........Excellent fun..................went through all my batteries, twice..................

Had a very quick flit about with the new Cheerson cx33s this morning, fpv screen is a bit dim so needs a shade, holds out for about 80 metres before you get break up. It';s mega stable, Y6';s are so no surprises  but lack of rates is a bit of a pain, however for an £80 5.8 fpv model you can';t fault it!

Had about seven packs today, been flying a vortex 250 pro its my 2nd quad, it';s going well and it fly';s really nice ,responsive, smooth and very very stable. So I thought let';s have a fly with the Emax my starter quad. The Emax is in stock out of the box tune and I had made the jump to Acro after about a month and thought, I was not doing to bad. Started this hobby with no experience February this year.  So how was the  Emax?, It';s hard to describe the difference but it was shocking, sluggish and is fighting me all the way, massive stick movements to get any response in fact it';s harder to fly than the vortex. I';m lucky it did not put me off completely. I do realise  that it would tune but when your starting out its not something you feel comfortable with and your more likely to make it worse. Purchased the vortex in July and it';s given me such a leg up. Started in angle at first but soon moved back to Acro and if you have not tried air mode do so its absolutely  amazing.

ooohhhhh, yes I did!Stumbled upon some SWEET fields, where the crops had just been cut, the sky was just right and I had freshly charged packs. Who could resist?

Got my FPV on for a little while and although it was super noobsville, it was utterly breathtaking. THAT';S why I want to keep learning.  :wack0

Had a great few flights over the weekend.

Started with a bit of LOS acro which ended in orientation loss and smash into the ground. Bents the arms but not broken, the carbon has de-laminated so this frame is scrap. Some FPV round an old quarry I found near Shap. Lost video feed about 300M out, ditched the quad. Thought there was no way I was going to find it but as it crashed the feed cam back on. Guess I had a bad connection from the previous crash. Luckily the quad was the right way up and managed to get in the air and back to me  :sweating:

Spent the rest of the packs LOS acro really pushing it, it';s great when you know the quad is knackered and needs a rebuild. You just don';t give a stuff, that';s when my best flying comes out. ::)

so true After many many crashes you become very skilled
At building a durable quad .

I e taken to something I said I would never do. Hot glue! Works a bloody treat. Yes it';s messy. Yeah it';s lazy but God it works. Holding an Fpv camera in place holding anything down its golden. A lighter and a stick of hot glue i take with me now.

At the weekend took the Turnigy i10 apart and seemed to have fixed the drifting channels by just reseating some pot connectors.
Took my unlucky fly-weird QAV210 out for a "quick" test flight in too gusty conditions (LOS + FPV screen backup).

Spend an hour and twenty minutes finding it again using the signal quality on the i10.
Well that escalated quickly.
Learnt quite a bit about direction finding with the i10, hope to never need that knowledge again.
Learnt that dropping a quad the instant I realised there was a problem can still mean it lands a long, long way away.

Stood in the corner for the rest of the day.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned,,,,,,,,,,walked straight through the work shop and didn';t even glance at the quad,,,straight to the combat wing
After yesterday';s little test bumps I was in full on hooligan mode this evening. Glued a spare 2204 2300kv
motor on this morning, bit of glue and duct tape over the cracked nose  ~~ job done ! It';s a screamer with a high KV motor virtually needing just 1/4 throttle to cruise.
Can';t remember exactly, could be over 10 years since I looped a plane,,,forgot what fun it is

So far only managed to fly in to a rage after some ass hat
Reversed in to my parked car and drove of ..
Luckily I have a witness and it was a local builder
Who claims not to speak good English.?
When I have confronted him so I';m waiting on an interpreter
His brother to arrive ....
What he dosent know is I don';t trust him and have rung the police taken lots of photos all these cameras for quads come in handy for othere stuff to .
Off all my paint work on the side of his car from my car
With a tape measure next to both cars showing the damage
At the same hight ..
And I have a witness..
But knowing my luck I';ll still get stung for insurance or repairs...

Powernumpty

I';d get on to your insurance company tell them the language issue and see if they have someone that can talk to him over your phone, that way it';s not just him and brother talking and it goes on record.

I think all you require from him is his name, address, insurance details, if he he is the registered keeper of the vehicle, if not the details for that person.
Ask the witness if they will go on record to the insurance people.

True I did do a check and the car was insured but who knows who for ..
The free insurance check only tells you if it is or not and were it was registered
