  • Reman: Got stuck in traffic yesterday. After an hour I started using my phone (And an OTG cable) to look through the media files on a keyring of my old USB sticks. Found one that had the entire run of "Firefly" on it. I got through 3 episodes before the traffic started moving again....... God, That really was an amazing show.

  • mo_miah: Gav- if its a camera ship then TBS crossfire is definitely what you need, the FrSky has limited channels and telemetry options, TBS crossfire has much better features and more channels to control camera gimbals etc

  • hoverfly: I coated a couple of Slipstreams  a few years ago  It stiffened up the wing nicely .On the down side although it prevented dings when i had an high speed"arrival" it left the resin cracked. and the glass lifted slightly.  Well stuck laminate stiffens the wing and is flexible..

  • DarkButterfly: I'm doing laminate, just put my order in for some, also got some balsa wood for the side parts, had to use a kitchen knife to seperate the foam from the busted wood

  • atomiclama: Thanks, can't decide on fibre glass or laminate. Like the idea of fibre for some reason, don't know why.

  • atomiclama: Anyone fibre glass coat their wings??
    September 05, 2018, 09:30:22
  • atomiclama: @DB well you obviously need a bigger motor and ESC, as flying slower is just not possible.  ::)

    September 05, 2018, 09:10:18
  • hoverfly: If you put a couple of coats of Eze Kote on the wing before the laminate it sticks really well ..no lifting..

  • DarkButterfly: If it makes you feel better, I’m going to completely refurbish my falcon Evo with new balsa sides and new laminate ~~

OK, Questions:-

1. Why is this almost TWICE the price of the std QX65?
2. Apart from a (subjective I know) waste of time weight adding paint finish, what do you get for the extra cost?
3. Why with a 1S supply battery is the OSD showing at times over 28.5 volts?
4. Why is its OSD display almost randomly varying?
5. Why is it at times showing dangerously low voltage, yet not calling for landing or going LVC?
6. Why do you not review in the quads "home" type of location, the tight confines of an indoor race course or a house? We won't learn anything from the odd climb and dive as a speck in the sky. My QX65 was total rubbish until I applied Project Mockingbird to it.

There is NO WAY I'd buy this without some confidence it'd groove a course indoors, not wobble around (briefly) like a sick tractor outdoors!

 Just asking........................... ;)

The qx65 is a brushless quad. The uk65 and us65 are flag designs of the ur65 micro brushless quad
The brushless versions are more expensive

The qx65 is a brushless brushed quad.
I believe, the uk65 and us65 are updated versions of the ur65. ur65 has 1700kv motors, uk65 & us65 have 1900kv motors.

From Banggood site the US and UK65s are brushless, the std qx65 is brushed, so yes that fully explains the difference in price.

Does not explain the OSD voltage readout variance though.

This is what they say about the battery:-

Capacity:250mAh
Voltage:3.8v
Continuous Discharge Rate: 40C
Instantaneous discharge rate: 80C
Size: 60mmx18mmx7mm
Weight: 6.5g
Connector: PH2.0

So its brushless but 1S

AndyRC did a decent review of the UK65 both indoors and outside
He also goes into binding and taranis scripts, batteries and the charger etc.
