Well I filled the form in for what it's worth.  It is shocking that only 700 people replied to the last consultation.  I guess there's not enough awareness that these absurd regulations will be imposed on us.

7912 members on this forum  one would assume most of them can work a keyboard. The F.P.V.  U.K. should  be able to  put in their two penny worth.  Not holding my breath for the B.M.F.A.  They won't  see the consultation  with their heads stuffed so far up their own rectum.

I'm sure the guys and gals at the BMFA will be glad to receive such useful feedback on the innumerable hours they have put into the issue and success achieved with the other groups in getting the interim agreement with the CAA. Bound to invigorate and redouble them for the final push. Well Done.

Is this why we have seen so many pages of the B.M.F.A. News  devoted on the subject. The organisation is its members ,it doesn't exist for a bunch of   sanctimonious  alt furzen to wave their ego's about. ~~

A lot of it was about the use of FINS and whether it should be mandatory or not (it shouldn't) so they can hunt you down more easily and impound all your drones and lock you up for longer than a serial killer.

Yes it was very badly written.  Some questions appeared to be repeated as well.

Filled it all in but it all seems aimed at stealing the airspace for commercial stuff and stopping criminals. I can't see any criminal bothering to register let alone register a flight plan!!! Also fines from £100 to £300 seems very disproportional to not registering a flight plan etc.
I don't think I actually saw the word hobby. Many many times commercial was mentioned.
I think that commercial should be completely seperate to hobby stuff. Maybe the max weight to be exempt from all the cr@p should be 500gms or 1kg and not just 'drones' but anything that flies be that gliders, kites or multirotors.

Seems like a mass of controls for hobbyists where it's the commercial and illegal activities that need to be controlled better.

Did you see the bit about having 7 days to prove you were legal!!!! I always thought UK law was innocent until proven guilty!!!!

Don't pay the fine and then wait til they take you to court, then they will have to prove you were illegally flying

What a dogs dinner, badly worded and divisive. The usual tick box manipulative questions with no "none of the above" boxes. I suspect it was devised by people who know f/a about drones by the nature of the assumptive questions. Lets hope that any enforcement organisation for F.I.N.s  is better than G4S.. or ATOS.. might be time to take up Morris dancing. :frantic:

If only it worked that way. They will take you to court for failure to provide proof within 7 days not the original incident!!! That way you are guilty of an offence!

I fly my Mavic off the radar, the phone I use has no data connection or Wi-Fi.
I modified the FW to take full control of the on-board computer and have no limits, finally I stopped using the DJI go app, I now use droneVR+.

First post aye up folks.
I'm old enough to remember the A.M C.B craze.Biscuit tin with a DV27 in my bedroom.
They interfered with TV and taxi company bands the cause celeb for tabliods and politicians.Eventually a F.M band was allocated and the craze died.Technology in the form of mobile phones and the internet made them redundant in the end.The emergency services moved away from analogue, the radio hams were left alone.I'd say no more park or footy field flying until the heat dies off. When was the last time anyone saw a copper?Domestic break ins arn't even investigated. So that's a plus for us.Bugger off to the middle of no where to fly larger quads or wings. Be discreet with smaller machines 250 and below multi's. The out of the box flyers will eventually move on to another things due to restrictions and a few early convictions that will inevitably happen and have.
The only caveat with my CB and peak craze analogy is the commercial pressure for air space. The police don,t have the man power. But the CAA could employ enforcement officers rather like GPO did with CB,s.
Sit tight and don't be a dick is my approach or as the film line says "Go to the Winchester have a nice cold pint and wait for all this to blow over"
Or am I being naive ?

Nice ref.
The problem IMO is that 'they' know that the low airspace is valuable. Just like the radio  frequencies sell off for mobiles will actually cause millions to lose tv channels but it's OK as Gov will get money and we will all be able to surf to the max on 5G.
So IMO it's all about money, nothing more nothing less. There are laws that can already be used re criminals using 'drones' to drop things into prisons or putting people at risk in aircrafts.

The ref did make me smile. :welcome:

Surely even for professional use they still need to follow the drone code. Amazon can't make a drone delivery without overflying built up areas and coming withing 50m of people and buildings

Other than following the current guidelines as laid out in the Drone Code, they will be exempt according to the proposal.

I think it's worth remembering that an idiot flying a 4s sub 250g quad is still an idiot. They can do a lot of damage and shouldn't be considered a toy by any stretch of the imagination.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rise in popularity of sub 250g models we will see an increased focus on the power of a quad rather than its weight.

Tbh i just want to be left alone to enjoy fpv flying
i don't mind registering any quads if it meant that when the cops turn up i can show my certificate and they leave me alone,
going through the headache of having to prove your are flying legally and all that crap just ruins the hobby
i know a sub 250g quad with enough speed can do a lot of damage, but if being in the sub 250g category is an easy way out while the people in government make their minds up then a diatone gt-m3 is very tempting

The cops won't turn up though... becauses there's no resources.  There are apparently 6 full time cops working in my town.  There's no way they're coming out to investigate someone that might be flying a drone that's a bit heavy and a bit fast in my local park.
