I was pretty pleased with the latest iteration of my Runcam3 mount for the ZMR200, so decided to go with what works on the SCX200.

Nice light bit of aluminium... wonder how that'll compare to a cage-type 3dprint? Drilled out a few holes to lose a gram or so.

Trial fitting. Looks good. Clean up some sharp edges, bit of velcro and we're golden!

That chappie aint going NOWHERE!  ~~

Super nice effort Andy!

I suspect your velcro strap is now the weak link. Take a look at the kevlar straps from quadcopters.co.uk, they're really worth it. (I appreciate you're then moving the weak link to the bolt holes on the carbon  ;) )

Yep, that was the first strap I put my hands on for the photo, it's actually part broken and I just use it for marking charged packs.
The screws go down into metal posts, so if THAT breaks then I think we're going to be looking at a rainy afternoon rebuilding anyhow.
My main problem used to be the cam sliding forwards and out in an impact. But velcro below stopped that.

That design has suffered some exciting crashes anchored to plastic posts and no loss. My recent cam ejection was actually caused by the velcro on the plate failing - I hadn't given the metal a key before gluing. Glue isn't a fan of highly polished metal. Notice the 'brushed' effect on the top surface

Hardest part of building it is making the space!

The problem you are gonna have Andy is there is no isolation between the cam and the frame, with 3d printed mount there is an element of that just because of the material, suggest some rubber or neoprene between the metal and the cam, ideally something like umagrip, should stop the cam slipping and solve the isolation

Back screws have rubber washers for just that purpose, I left screw thread to put some in the front too but I ran out.
