anybody tried this?  seems like it works but who has time to do all these new things to get your quad flying even better?  I think I will shut myself inside my man cave for a month and cobble together all these things I want to try, for the ultimate quadcopter.

Iv'e flashed all of my rctimer esc's with the simonk firmware but also enabled the boot loader so they can be re-flashed in the future with the turnigy linker  ~~
They are very easy to flash once you have done one and if you make the right tool  ;)

hi gazza mate.  ok great!  do you think it would work for 18a Turnigy plush ESC's?   also any chance of a pic of your home brew flash tool?  erm that sounds a bit weird but you know what I mean lol.  I have a bunch of RCTimer 18a esc's too just incase turnigy ones are not compatible.  I eagerly await your reply oh wise one.  8)

have a look through here Gav http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php/topic,14.0.html I'm pretty sure the plush are flashable same as the rctimer ones just need to check which firmware needs to be used,
the rctimers use the Tgy firmware  ~~

Nice one thank you very much indeed kind sir.  So did you see a huge improvement after the update?

Gaza07

Yes I did most of my motors used to have that weird crackling sound they can make after the upgrade non of them have ever crackled since, also on the megapirate firmware I used to have a weird wobble I couldnt tune out after the upgrade and with no tweeking the wobble was gone which was totaly down to the new firmware, some people say its not worth flashing as some esc's already run at a high speed but its not just the speed that counts its the enhanced code just for multi rotor use,
you no longer have to set things up with a card as it is al set up withing the code for multi rotor,
I wouldnt go back to default firmware now even if I could, which btw you cant once flashed the original is gone for good  ~~

Have a look here for pins http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250595993935?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_653wt_952

or he does a toll already made up http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261075193437?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_693wt_952

Another supplier with smaller pins http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pcs-P75-B1-Dia-1-02mm-100g-Spring-Test-Probe-Pogo-Pin-/370637601847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564bb8fc37#ht_2115wt_1186

or this size which I think I used http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pc-P100-B1-Dia-1-36mm-180g-Spring-Test-Probe-Pogo-Pin-/370636261717?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564ba48955#ht_1699wt_1186
they have to be tilted slightly to keep them apart and insulate every other one, I think the other thread shows how I made mine,
If you do flash yours make sure you enable the boot loader when you do it because you can then get the turnigy linker and re-flash at any time through the servo connector  ~~
