any thoughts on this transmitter?

It';s ok but has the disadvantage of being fhss not fasst, plus receivers are expensive. For that price you can get a Hitec Aurora 9 c/w optima 7 rx (from Airtek models); much better option. You can also get Frsky Minima compatible rx';s quite cheap if you want a good price.
The A9 offers the same sort of programming as Futaba 8fg but is easier to use;  alternatively Turnigy 9xr or 9x flashed with Er9x - but programming is not as easy as the A9.

on a plus is does have s-bus though

True, but is that really a major advantage?

Cozp83

I picked up a t8j about a month ago. very nice piece of kit, plenty of programmable switchs, the menus are nice and easy to navigate and programming is a dream. i bought it because i plan on getting an ezuhf setup and the internal aerial on the t8j makes for a nicer install. theres a bundle deal at the moment which includes two recievers.
If YOU can fly it, I CAN crash it.

Britishguy

i just feel that with the hitec, its dated.

i still love the jr xg8, wanted one since they came out and noticed there doing a deal aswell, it comes with 2 rx';s.

thanks for the info, ill decide soon

Britishguy

ordered the xg8 in black chrome  ::)

ezuhf should work on it too

Balders

I bought an 8FG Super Tx recently second hand.

Then I found out the price of Rx';s and the fact that it doesn';t work with all futaba 2.4ghz Rx';s.

Sold it on ebay fortunately for what I paid for it.

Bought a brand new DX7S with AR8000 Rx for less than the 8FG was second hand.
