Betaflight setting for dys 20a esc ?

I've just bought these 4 dys 20a esc's from Banggood
https://m.banggood.com/4X-DYS-XSD-20A-3-4S-ESC-BLHeli_S-Supports-Dshot600-Dshot300-For-High-KV-Motors-p-1187166.html?rmmds=search
As I wanted to try digital esc's so I could set higher pid loops and gyro rates just to see if I notice anything different in my flying before I move my other quads over to digital esc's ?...... Currently all my quads run ONESHOT125 but these esc's can run dshot 300 or 600 so what do I set them to on betaflight ? If you need to know the motors they are emax 2205s and the props are dal cyclone 5045 the flight controller is a Matek f405.......Thanks for any replies  ~~

ched

If they will accept it I would go dshot 600. No need calibrate the esc.
I try :-)

Thanks ched i was getting worried no one had answered my question......I did read you don't need to calibrate the esc's but I also read you need to set a minimum idle percentage...... the maths were the minimum throttle speed all four motors run at then divide by 1000 then divide by 10,
So in the example:
1040-1000=40
40/10=4
Go to the cli tab in configurator
Click in the box at the bottom and type:
set digital_idle_percent = 4
I assume I will have to do that rather than the solder up and fly which I was going to do ?  :hmm:

Cheredanine

Actually no mate, that is miss information, the idle % is the same as min throttle in pwm based protocols. 4.5 is default, should be good with that. If you are a super ace acro guy and you want to maximise your hang time when inverted you need to push down lower, but you risk desynch.

Just fly them

Thanks Cheredanine that was your formula I found on another website ass I'm sure you are aware  :azn........So it really is just solder the new esc's change betaflight to dshot 600 then and go fly?

Cheredanine

Somthe formula converts min throttle to idle %, that is all well and good but you need to know what the min throttle for your quad should be, which requires testing ad to be honest you can set idle % lower than min throttle
