  • Reman: Got stuck in traffic yesterday. After an hour I started using my phone (And an OTG cable) to look through the media files on a keyring of my old USB sticks. Found one that had the entire run of "Firefly" on it. I got through 3 episodes before the traffic started moving again....... God, That really was an amazing show.

  • mo_miah: Gav- if its a camera ship then TBS crossfire is definitely what you need, the FrSky has limited channels and telemetry options, TBS crossfire has much better features and more channels to control camera gimbals etc

  • hoverfly: I coated a couple of Slipstreams  a few years ago  It stiffened up the wing nicely .On the down side although it prevented dings when i had an high speed"arrival" it left the resin cracked. and the glass lifted slightly.  Well stuck laminate stiffens the wing and is flexible..

  • DarkButterfly: I'm doing laminate, just put my order in for some, also got some balsa wood for the side parts, had to use a kitchen knife to seperate the foam from the busted wood

  • atomiclama: Thanks, can't decide on fibre glass or laminate. Like the idea of fibre for some reason, don't know why.

  • atomiclama: Anyone fibre glass coat their wings??
    September 05, 2018, 09:30:22
  • atomiclama: @DB well you obviously need a bigger motor and ESC, as flying slower is just not possible.  ::)

    September 05, 2018, 09:10:18
  • hoverfly: If you put a couple of coats of Eze Kote on the wing before the laminate it sticks really well ..no lifting..

  • DarkButterfly: If it makes you feel better, I’m going to completely refurbish my falcon Evo with new balsa sides and new laminate ~~

Flysky ai6 trainer set up
« on: March 12, 2018, 18:31:52 »
As i am such a rubbish fixed wing pilot, and as i have a pair of ai6 TX`s, i have decided on getting the dreaded cable of shame....the buddy lead, so with luck i will be able to speed up the learning of fixed wing and cut the crashes!
So do i do an identical set up on both TX`s, of course i understand one is a master for the teacher, so he can flip a toggle to regain control, so would ihave to programme the model parameters like rates and expo, like for like into each tx

Not familiar with the t/x but I would assume the settings would have to be the same. If you can transfer the settings via an SD card it will be easier.
On spectrum tx its possible to select which controls are dual, also the master control cuts the trainer off as soon as a stick is moved.

Could you not test the setup using BetaFlight to see how the rx responds?

Best thing to do is when cable arrives, plug them in and select trainer mode, and do a like for like set up on both tx`s, i know with ai6 you use swa D toggle on master so the teacher can flip the toggle to take control, will set up the ranger as i have not flown this plane and really want to get on the sticks with it, but with the safe guard of having dual controls

mission success all set up and ready to roll, only issue i have found is the slave radio wont operate the rates switch so the student (me), has to ask the teacher pilot to swap low/high rate

Good luck. I like the idea the student has to ask for high rates

I think when the weather decides to let me fly, i should take a pic of the Ranger, with the dual controls and have an L plate in the pic
