  • Reman: Got stuck in traffic yesterday. After an hour I started using my phone (And an OTG cable) to look through the media files on a keyring of my old USB sticks. Found one that had the entire run of "Firefly" on it. I got through 3 episodes before the traffic started moving again....... God, That really was an amazing show.

  • mo_miah: Gav- if its a camera ship then TBS crossfire is definitely what you need, the FrSky has limited channels and telemetry options, TBS crossfire has much better features and more channels to control camera gimbals etc

  • hoverfly: I coated a couple of Slipstreams  a few years ago  It stiffened up the wing nicely .On the down side although it prevented dings when i had an high speed"arrival" it left the resin cracked. and the glass lifted slightly.  Well stuck laminate stiffens the wing and is flexible..

  • DarkButterfly: I'm doing laminate, just put my order in for some, also got some balsa wood for the side parts, had to use a kitchen knife to seperate the foam from the busted wood

  • atomiclama: Thanks, can't decide on fibre glass or laminate. Like the idea of fibre for some reason, don't know why.

  • atomiclama: Anyone fibre glass coat their wings??
    September 05, 2018, 09:30:22
  • atomiclama: @DB well you obviously need a bigger motor and ESC, as flying slower is just not possible.  ::)

  • hoverfly: If you put a couple of coats of Eze Kote on the wing before the laminate it sticks really well ..no lifting..
    September 05, 2018, 08:47:37
  • DarkButterfly: If it makes you feel better, I’m going to completely refurbish my falcon Evo with new balsa sides and new laminate ~~

Monmouth Viaduct
« on: March 10, 2018, 10:30:14 »
Hi All!

We took a short trip to Monmouth for an enforced break. The snow still lying over that way was amazing with 10 foot drifts in places.  Never before have I reversed as much down single track roads on the side of a mountain! :)

Anyway, in between the generally awful weather I managed to squeeze a few flights in, and here's the first.

Hope you enjoy.

Hey Hoverfly.  Hope you're doing ok?

I don't think YouTube have done anything, but I have started up-scaling my videos to 4K now.  It makes a huge difference in terms of the bitrate on YouTube, and therefore the quality.  I'm really glad someone has noticed! It confirms I am not just seeing things! :)

Yeah, best yet. I did notice that the streaming quality was really good. What framerate did you render it in?

Hey Bad Raven.  You've correctly spotted that I took it a bit easy at this site.  Not to make excuses, but.... Lol.

I've hung my head in shame and I will ensure to do it properly when I go back.  :-/ While I was editing I regretted not doing a few other moves as well.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing! :)

I rendered it in MPEG 4 4K 3840x2160/30p (50Mbps) using Powerdirector.

I think you did pretty well! I know that feeling though, on one or two edits I’ve done I’ve got about 2/3 of the way through and thought ‘hmmm I’m running out of footage here!’.

Better than pretty well!

I always try to show people the direct view as well or in part just so they appreciate what the Pilot sees, as its only too easy to be fooled by the HD footage! And, no I don't publish, my vids are too boring!!!
