Just received the board today, it came with a blob on one of the parts.

Scared to solder the wires, just destroyed a Sp racing f3........ :frantic:

Looks like some gunk (technical term :) ) to protect/bond the inductor to the circuit board. Looks OK to me but hopefully some one else with this FC will check theirs.

One thing to do before you solder anything onto the board is to plug it into BetaFlight and make sure it all works and the model moves etc.
I try :-)

Dippi

checked works with betaflight raceflight and clenflight, but i am not sure if this is a manufacturing issue a the product is not supposed to come with gunk right out of the box, on the product page it is absent and the board is clean.

The  poop is to bond the inductor to the board it has very fine wire on it, all the new boards have it. Its a superb f/c,even stock settings are brilliant.

Interesting as mine doesn';t have that blob on the inductor, still nothing to worry about ~~
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

Inductors commonly fall off stuff, anyone who had the old naze32 brother osd or osdoge v1 will probably have experiance with it, I had one fall off a vtx with built in L-C filter about 2 weeks ago, and then one fall off a new flight controller today (fun time resoldering that I can tell you!)

The old advice was to apply hot glue or liquid electrical tape.

Suspect it has been an issue for the kakute and the manufacturer has started pre-emoting it by applying liquid electrical tape. Should be fine.

DB if your board doesn';t have it recomend adding some next time you are inside it mate

If you are really bothered it can be improvised with ear wax and then coloured with felt tip pen.. ~~

Does this FC work with FLYSKY receivers?

I spoke to the seller and they are replacing the board. It something that';s not supposed to be on it, i guess.
