There is a question about 2305 2450KV motor's thrust.

I only know a little about quadcopter motors, and there is  a question about my motor';s  thrust. I bought 4 pcs 2305 2450KV motors from a motor online shop, and I got a thrust data  on their motor details, but my fridens said the thrust data probably is wrong, they should  at least 1100g/1200g, but he is not sure.So what do you think of this motor thrust data? is  it right or wrong?

Cheredanine

Hi,
Your friends may be wrong or right, the thrust of a motor is not just dependent on the stator height and diameter or it';s kv rating (the latter are frequently inaccurate). A lot of other factors are major contributors, including, but not limited to:

Number of poles
material magnets are made of
Shape of magnets
Width of lamination
Width of air gap
Single or multistrand windings and type of wire

In my experiance the height of the stator effects top end, the width effects transition speed, so a 2206 would have more top end than a 2305 all other things being equal

There are certainly 2305 motors with higher thrust figures, which would suggestbthe figures you have are not manufacturers making wild claims, I would suggest, therefore they are reasonably accurate on the bench

This is a very good independent site for motor thrust figures and is widely used by the community, as you can see, many motors with the same spec of stator and kv have wildly varying thrust figures depending on those other factors:

Static thrust tests are just that, static. How often is the quad static in the air. They just give an indication of the power of the motor.

There are lots of other factors as Cheredanine states, that effect how the motors feel to fly.

Just go fly and don';t worry about it too much  ::)
