Help! drone not working

Hi. I am a beginner building my first racing drone. My drone has a naze 32 board and a fly sky 1a6b receiver. I have tried both cleanflight and baseflight but on both of them the receiver and the motors are not being recognized. Could you please give some advice to fix the problem.

ched

How have you connected the rx? Is the RX et to pwm or ppm (in tx menu). Have you bound the rx to tx (might not need to if supplied as kit)?
I try :-)

Eoi

I have connected the rx in ppm. And set the tx to ppm. I have bound the rx to tx.

Cheredanine

And you have configured the fc to use ppm?
What happens in the reciever tab when you power up and move the sticks?

Eoi

I have configured the FC to ppm, nothing happens on the screen when I move up an down the sticks in the receiver tab. The FC said the rx is connected and gives the battery of it.

Cheredanine

How did the fc say the rc is connected?
The fc does not give the battery of the rx
May help if you share wiring diagram/pictures

Eoi

atomiclama

Well at least the TX is bound to the RX.

The TX show that there is a connection between the TX and RX.

Nothing about a connection to the FC.

Wasdale X, Ow that hurt

ched

The 5.98v displayed on the tx is the voltage the rx is getting ie. the black and red wires. So tx and rx are bound.
In the tx system settings menu ( I think) there is a rx item. Can you tell us what info there is in that menu?
Can you show us what the rx tab in CF/BF shows?
I try :-)

Cheredanine

Agree with ched.
Although wiring can not be seen on fc, inference is it is ok.
Can you provide screenshot of Reciever and config tabs on cf configurator

OK in this image when you go into PPM what does it say? I now have my i6 next to me so I can check what mine says to try and help.

It said Receiver ppm output on

That all looks good me. So now we need to see how it';s hooked up to the Naze32. i.e. which pad/pin is the white signal wire connected to on the naze32.
Sorry for asking so many questions/photos but we will get to the bottom of this.
I try :-)

Eoi

Is this wired correctly? Thank you so much for your help

ched

It does look like it is wired correctly. Mmmmmm....

Think we need someone with Naze32 and configuration experience.

Hopefully some one will be along soon. I will keep thinking. Don';t worry we will get it working.

One silly thing. I assume when the FC is connected to the pc the image of the quad moves as you move the real quad?
I try :-)

Eoi

Yes the drone does move on the screen . The accelerometer is fine

ched

The receiver you have also does iBus which is supposed to be better. It might be worth trying this set of instructions :https://tomblanch.wordpress.com/2016/07/30/flysky-ia6b-ppm-and-ibus-with-naze-32/.
You should be able to use the black wire that is connected to the appropriate pad on the naze32 and swapping it for the white one you currently have going to the servo plug for ppm. Then plug the servo plug into the iBus Servo port. Then going through the setup in the above link.

I know it';s admitting defeat on ppm but iBus is better and might get you up and running.
I try :-)

Cheredanine

(Wiring is correct for ppm on naze (signal goes to pad 1)
That';s a Rev 5 too!

So here is the thing.

If the radio is bound to the Rx and both are powered, and if there is nothing wrong with the soldering and the wires are ok then that all looks good. The bars on the reciever tab should move when you move the sticks.
Cpu load looks very iffy (hard to see on the screen shots but looking like 70%, not good for flight but shouldn';t stop this
Even if the channel map was wrong some bar should move when you move a stick

Eoi

Do I need to give power to the naze board like this

Eoi

Omg. It started working. The bars are moving with the sticks on cf

Cheredanine

Unless you have changed something, it is probably a bad wire or solder join, be very careful, it is as likely to stop working just as randomly

Eoi

Another problem😖 The motors are not spinning  in the motor section when I push the dials up. I think the escs are plugged in correctly. They are making noise when I plug them in. The graph on the screen is moveing slightly but the motors are not turning. Also it recognizes that there are four motors plugged in.

Cheredanine

What escs are you using? Have you calibrated them?

ched

Great to hear you have the rx values changing. How did you manage that? Just asking as if you didn';t do ';anything'; then you probably still have a fault that could re occcur when flying!!!

As for motors not spinning: FIRST MAKE SURE PROPS ARE OFF. Then there should be some sort of motot test check box that will probably ask you to confirm your props are off then you should be able to spin motors from tab. You will need a battery connected as usb cant provide enough power for motors.
I try :-)

Eoi

Yes the props are off . The box is ticked. The battery is plugged in .
How do I calibrate my escs

Eoi
