Could have had a headwind slowing it?
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

you could be right,it was a bit windy here this morning..
least i know it works, was nervy wondering if it was going to fly away or come back.
least i didnt have to go hunting to find it was a relief to see it coming back slowly..

Glad to hear that it works.

I';ve got pretty much the same setup and was out flying on wednesday morning when it was relatively windless and RTH worked although as you say very slowly.

Went out again in the afternoon. Lost orientation but thought ok, flicked the switch for RTH then the panic really set in  :frantic:
Watched as the quad attempted to turn to home only to be blown by not that fierce-a-wind into the top of a 60 feet oak tree!

Managed after looking like a scene from the beginning of 2001 A Space Odyssey (throwing sticks, etc) to get it down by throwing a rope with a large chunk of angle iron attached and shaking the tree - so far 2 props, possibly a motor and a CD lid.

Would be interested to know if there is a way to increase the speed of return...

Cheers

I think it will speed things up if you increase the navigation rate (NavR) settings also you can increase the position hold setting (Pos) to make it stronger or the Position hold rate (PosR) to make it react quicker, but before altering any settings make a note of what was working so you can always go back if you need to, and be aware that the settings can make things happen much quicker, I had a copter try to fly through my bathroom window once so be prepared to switch it off if it takes of like a scalded cat   ~~

Heres a pic of the settings that affect the gps
