I have  new lights available for drones.  A WHITE  and  BLUE CIRCULAR ARRAY..  See
www.lightingforaeromodellers.co.uk

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK.
Use the e mail facility under my AVATAR.   Thanks......Ross.
Let's be careful out there.

Thank you.  I have some more BLUE  and RED  coming.  Not found a decent (true GREEN) available yet.

How do you guys usually power the LEDs.....?

Where is the best place to get the power supply ? Do you add a dedicated ubec ?

Is it possible to configure the FC to enable LED switching in flight ?

Thanks

The circular lights that I have ( 100mm WHITE.   40mm BLUE) are 12v, as most pro types are.
They are quite intense as they are meant for an industrial purpose
I should imagine that the HK types on the lower voltage/current are not as bright.

As regards switching of lights when airborne, then a simple RC switch would do, plug it into spare rx channel (knob type or three way switch on tx .  It';s less complicated.)
HOWEVER...some RC switches are good for 6v max only so are ok for leds but not anything over 6v obviously and the correct value resistor should be inserted between the switch output and the led..

between 5 v and 12 volt led... it';s only a change of resistor..... but the kind of led can change something....

IF  dropping 12v down to a led voltage (usually between 1.9v and 3.5v depending on type and colour) then the correct OHMAGE VALUE  and the correct WATTAGE  value should be used.  Some leds  (above the average milliamp rating ..for example..those pulling 350 to 500 milliamps )... require a 1 or 2 watt resistor or the incorrect ohm/wattage resistor can get quite hot.  Also..some leds require a metal heatsink.

For instance a led drawing 30 milliamps may need a 6.8ohm 1/4 watt resistor on 6v.....  if the led draws 350 milliamps when using 6v then  it will require something like a 68 ohm 1 watt resistor.

NOTE: On 12v
..the resistor will be totally different as regards the OHM rating and wattage rating

Many of the resistor calculators on Google do not cater for  milliamp ratings in triple digits..so be careful.

ok.. ok the only thing change is the amp that can pass true the resistor ... 1/4 w 1/2w etc... and ..........
Ohm';s law stay Ohm';s law
V = I R

the kind of led change something...... the voltage that they work on not...

YOU  have to click on the line where it says.... and an e mail form pops up..just send it...I will return the PDF.
or send me an e mail via my Avatar listing.
