What to get next?

I';m enjoying flopping around in my Wizard (wouldn';t quite call it flying yet!) a lot, but I';m craving more options! (I';m already addicted and I';ve barely started..)

I';m planning on getting a Taranis Q X7, everything I';ve heard about them is great and I';m only really interested in quads so the few downsides I';ve heard about them (lack of sliders for example) doesn';t really seem to apply to me.

I also want an inductrix style BTF, something that I can bash about indoors and can bind to FrSky to go with my Taranis. I';ve been thinking about the Warlark 80, it seems to come up positively but the only real alternatives seem to be either an Inductrix (which from what I';ve seen isn';t a hugely strong contender, just convenience in the UK, though it wouldn';t work directly with the Taranis anyway) or various Eachine micros which I';m reluctant to buy since I';m still sorting out the mess that is my QX90C and Banggood';s CS isn';t the most helpful or efficient. Ideally something that I can put into acro for practicing!

A 120-130ish quad, again a bit of a basher but for outdoors. Something a little more likely to bounce in a hard crash or fit through a gap I might underestimate the size of. I';ve been looking at the Youbi XV-130 but I';m a bit put off by the seeming fragility of it';s frame. Not that I';ve really heard horror stories about them exploding, but I';d like something relatively cheap and sturdy. I';m not sure about building anything so small since I have no experience but could be an option.

Last thing I';m looking at is an upgrade path for my Wizard. I REALLY like the look of the Ragg-E frames (the actual aesthetic appearance as well as the ruggedness) and they seem very sturdy, I';d be interested in transferring the innards of my Wizard into one of those, then upgrading it bit by bit until eventually I have the Wizard re-assembled and a totally new quad too! I have no idea the kind of parts needed though and I';ve never done any kind of delicate soldering so it';d be a great experience but I';d also need to get a soldering iron.

Please, enable me with suggestions for any of the above! Would also be interested to hear what people would recommend for first time soldering irons. I';m not confident with building, but it';s something that interests me, though I don';t think I';d want anything too fiddly. Budget would really be as small as possible, I';m still looking at Fatsharks with dreamy eyes so I don';t want to shell out a fortune!

Derp! Put this in the wrong place! Is it possible to move it to the correct forum please? :embarrassed

Can';t comment on the quads you mention but as for goggles for a cheap but reasonable goggles have a look at these http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-VR-007-Pro-VR007-5_8G-40CH-HD-FPV-Goggles-4_3-Inch-Video-Headset-With-3_7V-1600mAh-Battery-p-1134154.html
There is a utube review by UAV Futures that seems to rate them and they are reduced at the moment at £37.37!!!

That way you might be able to use your budget to get quads and later get the fatsharks.

I do quite like the look of the Youbi XV-130 not sure of the quality of the components but it would be almost ready to fly.
I try :-)

I already have some Eachine VR D2 goggles which work fine, I just find them uncomfortable. I have quite a wide head and they don';t quite fit right, plus they might give me a headache, though between wearing glasses (not too bad, I can read etc without them) and my wizard';s cam maybe being a bit out of focus too, I need to check it out properly before I blame the goggles. I tried on some Dom V3s and they seem much better. I';m in no rush for them though.

I';ve been looking at the Youbi after seeing Stu mention in a video that he regularly flies it (I think it was one of his Q&A videos rather than the review, which was positive too). If someone that has that many quads considers it a fun quad that he flies regularly, it must have something going for it. I think he did the Hide and Seek video with Trev using them too.

I know what mean about the goggles, I didn';t realise you had any.
The reason RTF (ready to Fly) quads don';t normally get a good  reputation is most of the time they have non standard parts. So you might not be able to buy spares to rebuild after a crash.
But the Youbi XV-130 does seem to use normalish parts which are available from different suppliers.
Judging by your enthusiasm I would say get a soldering iron and watch some videos on soldering.
Have a look at the build threads, get an idea of the sort of quad you want and post the components you think might be good and ask for comments.

Lots and lots of very experience people here, you should get all the help you need to build your own quad from components. You will learn so much, its great to have the sense of achievement when a quad you put together flies. Ok so there will also be frustration but out weighed by sense of pride in your work :)
I try :-)
