GoPro Karma Stabilizer + Pixhawk?

I';ve recently been looking at a few different options in terms of AP drones. So far the Mavic has come up the most attractive, but then my mind started thinking...

I already have the following:
- compact 450 pixhawk controlled quad
- gopro hero 4 black

I am wondering how much effort it would take to get the pixhawk to talk to the Karma stabilizer and whether I could get a video feed or not... http://shop.gopro.com/EMEA/accessories-2/karma-stabilizer/AGMBL-001.html

If it was possible, I could create quite an elegant solution with a better drone than the karma. And also for less money!

Probably a silly question but why not get a decent gimbal and jut use that?
I try :-)

I';d get the Karma grip, then the stabiliser unplugs and then goes straight into the drone. The video output is also very neat and out of the way in comparison to existing products. Unless there is a comparable handheld gimbal that can do all this that I';m missing?
