Motor_Stop is spinning motors! BetaFlight

Hi,

Ive just built my first quad and new to RC.

It does fly well, my only concern is that I have motor_stop enabled in Betaflight 3.0.1 but when arming the quad via aux1 on my fs-i6 the motors spin at what I assume min_throttle 1040.

Its not a big deal as most people actually seem to fly like this. I would rather not have the motors spin on arming though, I cant for the life of me figure out why this is happening.

End points and mid points are all bang on the quad works perfectly apart from this issue, I just need to learn to fly it haha have ordered a qx90 to learn on with a FlySky Rx onabord.

** It has just occured to me that it might be because I have ';air mode always on'; ticked? I will check it now...**
Thanks,
QuadUk

On the config page you probably have air mode enabled as a feature, this overrides motorstop.
Disable the feature and put it on a switch and you should be good - motor stop will work without airmode on, turn it on and motor stop won';t work but acrobatics is spiffy

Yeah I actually kind of realised what I had done after I posted haha. Just tested and it works as expected now, with only a 6ch radio it becomes difficult to have a switch for everything. Rather than making a new thread, what is the benefit of the ';kill switch'; in the modes tab as opposed to just disarming the quad? I have set both to a switch and the disarm is faster than flicking the kill switch. Thanks again.

Don';t use it, I have a taranis and a tango with an frsky module in it, I usually use 6 channels:
TAER on 1 to 4
5 modes : I use a e post switch with angle, horizon and acro
6 arm: 3 position: disarmed, armed, armed with air mode active

I have used a channel for RSSI in the past too, but tend not to bother nowerdays

If I only had 2 post switches I would go
5: horizon, acro and airmode
6: disarmed, armed
