I flight first time this frame with strong wind and i test Position Hold - Go Home and Auto Landing. I am very satisfied with behaviour.

RABBIT FC Flight Control with Strog Wind PH GH AL 130812

Gaza07

Position hold worked very well even in the wind it blew away a little bit when gusting but soon came back, the go home function was perfect  :bravo:

I think with more tuning for in coming force like wind it keeps better.

Gaza07

What the Rabbit really needs is a gain control for the wind so it can be setup to suit the strong wind, its a shame the devs aren't adding this feature, I agree with the people over on rcg if it was open source it would be much better and I think would have better support and more features, I also think they would sell more and not less  ~~

I agree with you about open source. But with my experience with BV and MP i am scare :wack0 :wack0 :wack0

The rabbits look like they perform very well and your quadcopter is definitely flying nice and stable in the air - I'm impressed . I'm sure the one i have on order will be interesting to play around with when it finally arrives (i ordered it almost 2 months ago, shipped 3 weeks back ).

Apart from the ethics involved (and I'll admit I'm massively biased in favour of open source generally) I agree with Gaza - the rabbit might fly the best now at the price but who's controller will be flying the best in a year or two's time? The one with the largest community of developers I expect. I suspect the rabbit team might realise this eventually and open source their code as they should have to start with, if only so they can sell more. If they don't i suspect that they will get left behind in a year or two at which point either the rabbit will disappear or we'll see another closed source rabbit 2. In the meantime all the open source MultiWii fliers and the rest will be constantly benefiting from updated hardware and software rather than waiting on handouts and the next big release from a bunch of developers that don't speak the same language as them (literally AND figuratively). Although i should admit I'm guessing a bit here.

But given the half life of the average quadcopter and associated equipment and the rate at which things are improving, anyone wanting the best stability at a good price is probably best off buying a rabbit now and dumping it later when there is something better. I doubt many people are flying quadcopters with GPS and Sonar etc that are the same now as they were 2 years ago so it's no great disaster if your rabbit is obsolete in a years time.

The MultiWii people have been flying MultiWii multicopters for years now and are likely to continue for years to come.

When my rabbit arrives I will try to do a (highly subjective) review of the difference in flight performance between the rabbit and a properly setup MultiWii board. So far I've flown MultiWii boards, Free Flight boards (32 bit Multiwii code) and the basic KK board (gyros only).

I find the issues around Free software and open source to be quite interesting and I'm always glad to see people discussing them in a reasonable fashion. Things got personal and unpleasant on rcgroups very quickly which shut down any useful conversation there.

Hi teslahed

I hope arrived your rabbit soon and make your test with other FC's
My experience with FC's are small only 3.
My best is to flight and try to take the best of anything, i think after 3 months just now i learn Rabbit and i will try to take the best from this board.

teslahed

I'll admit I'm both looking forward to and mildly dreading the task of learning to use a completely new flight controller and associated software when my rabbit arrives (not today  :().

Should be fun though

The Rabbit is very easy to get to grips with its just a the gui to learn and put up with
and knowing how to calibrate things, it always seems a little daunting when learning a new project but this one is very easy, and it does fly so well  ~~

Hi to all
If you want lets play a quiz
I try to learn what happen if change CoG and put a doll on my Quad. At first fly i have a small fall after that quad had small shake.......
THE QUESTION: what must i do to resolve this problem..
See video please.

Shake it baby shake it

teslahed

If the quadcopter flies less well after a small crash and seems to shake a lot then it could be you've bent a prop adapter or motor axle slightly. If one of the props was off centre as a result of this you would get more vibrations affecting your gyros and accelerometers and your quadcopter would fly less well as a result.

Try disconnecting all but one of the motors and spinning up each motor in turn. Keep a firm hold of the quadcopter of clamp it down securely somehow so it doesn't fly away. If one of the motors sounds much louder than the others then that is probably the motor with the bent axle or prop adapter.

In other news my rabbit arrived this morning  I'm off out for the next 3 days though so wont be able to do anything with it for a while.

Well first of all Sakis does your son know you have nicked his action man, if he falls of there he will loose his head and your son will be very angry,

Having access weight of the cog will cause a small wobble but shouldnt be that noticeable, unlike the bottle of water I tried,

I agree with chris bent prop adapter or chipped out of balance prop, or maybe a badly bent prop  ;)

you cant see well enough in the video if there is a wobble on the motors / prop adapters or a badly twisted blade that is tracking badly compared to the other

let us know what it is  ~~

And give your son his action man back with its head on  ::)

Hi teslahed and Gary

Gary i am lucky now my son is 17 and he likes when he see the doll on Quad. :wack0

You are very close both
With crash I loose 1 prop ( this props are good - strong material) and motor base or arm base turn a little 2-3 degrees. First i don't see that and try with pc tools make corrections but nothing going better. I see the wrong level of prop when fly in my eyes level and i fix it.

And the winner is.......................

Teslahed :bravo: And hies award is A full packet of Rabbit Love Flight

Sorry Gary you are so close.... :azn next time.

I learned the hard way so you don't have to ~~

I wont say how many months it took me to work out all my prop adapters were bent and causing me problems :whistling:

Hi Chris
You write - it could be you've bent a prop adapter or motor axle slightly -
Solution is motor axle slightly

I have no prop adapter

Good luck with your Rabbit
