Hi
This is my new home made quad frame with carbon plate (talon V1), CF 34,5cm 12mm booms, aluminium motor base and my motor plate from ply - class fibber and epoxy 5 min. , scales from 500 class heli and 2 pieces aluminioum.

Gaza07

Nice build Sakis thanks for posting looking forward to the test flight video's  ~~
the carbon fibre tubes make things very neat running the wires inside, I haven't seen those esc's before, have you used them before can they be flashed ?
I Also really like the looks of your under carriage where do you get them from

Hi Gary
I found this on ebay, He shows to me an other multi friend ho he used, its ok but i think i must cut the blue material for better fitting, will see.......
Cross Shaped 4 Port Pneumatic Fittings Connector 12mm http://www.ebay.com/itm/400297509263?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I use in all my copters this ESC's Turnigy AE 25 - and Fw is original and runs 400Hz

I make same flight but for now i am not happy.

Gaza07

Those connectors look just the job, I think the blue bit locks the tube in, I will have a look on HK at the esc's, what's wrong with the test flight is it some thing you can fix easily ?

I can not explain good - you see my English - In stock settings 450cm-650cm / 650cm-plus i have many wobble, acceptable flight i have 300-450cm in both 2011 and 2012 .

Will see

teslahed

It's difficult to say what could be causing your wobbles because you haven't given much information and in the pictures your quadcopter looks good as far as i can tell.

If the wobbles are very fast you may have your gyro or PID settings set too high.

If the wobbles are slower your gyro or PID settings may be too low.

If the frame itself is not stiff enough and is too flexible that could make the quadcopter fly badly.

If your quadcopter is too heavy or your motors are underpowered then they will struggle to make it fly well and that could cause it to wobble in the air. I see your quadcopter weighs about 1.66kg which isn't the lightest - what motors have you used?
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

sakiskoz

it's not the weight i have the same behaviour and with aluminium booms which is heavier, motors have more than enough power, for that i change props from 11x47 to 10x45 . If i use HK KK board is ok. Setting of rabbit is problem. I use ubec 8-15A, all ESC is connect only with line, same for receiver except throttle. I have not magnetic field and All i think it's ok.

MadMax

Did you manage to solve your problems with your new frame, looks great BTW  ~~

I cut booms 11cm and now is 46 cm diameter and 23,5 cm each boom.
this booms are 12mm and is very elastic for this copter weight.
I thing 14-16mm and up is better. Now I have my smaller diameter copter.
In video with on board camera is with out gimbal and you can see behaviour and stability of position hold.
I am not for this time contented i think need more tuning my hexa is more stable.

If you have open voice when you see the video you can hear at time 1:08 i open pos. Holt and after that at 1:31 and 2:15 i have  2 more beeps, i dont know what is this, that only remember i use a little throttle

A gimble would prob sort out the movements by the gps and the wind, I agree though 12mm is probably a bit small for that size mult rotor, rctimer have a carbon fibre gimble at a really good price  ~~

Looks like you cut the arms down by quite a bit, so the problem was the arms flexing then  ;)

Yes it starts from flexibility of arms and then goes vibrations to all copter and of course to board.

Video from my airfield club in windy day with position Hold and short course

Looks like your getting a few vibes there sakis, your flying club looks very good a nice place to fly  ~~
was the purple colour caused by vibes ?
Did you have any problems going back to v1.211 as when I did it, I thought my board was broken as itkept crashing,
I had to fix it by flashing the v1.211 firmware with the v1.212 app, it all fixed now though and back to the reliable v1.211  ~~

sakiskoz

Vibes are from wind, in video can see the wind but are very strong.
I cant have good opinion, because i move board from hexa to Quad and i had 1212 and go back to 1211 when i put board to Quad. My first attempt to upload 1211 is from 1210e CUI with no luck and next i try from 1212 CUI and it is OK, I dont remember if upload again 1211 from 1210 CUI
That Colours is happen to me first time, I have see that problem to other modeller with same camera. This camera is sucks

MadMax

you have a nice flying club is it just for your club or do you share it with others, it looks like its in the middle of no where

Yes is nice and it is my personal job and i had work very hard to create all this with 2 others modeller friends when i was President of this club.
This airfield is the only one in Greece who can travel to it in asphalt.
Mostly is for club members and for any other to Greece where have insurance from GREEK FEDERATION AERATHLITIKIS.

150 meters runway with 12 meters width
60 meters length with 10 meters width for modeller pits
2 sheds 5mX10m each if i remember right.
All area 14000m2 square feet

teslahed

Sounds very nice - looks like you have plenty of space

Hi
That is my new transform of my Quad
I removed cd case to see if i lose something with it..
Visually I do not like but have a good flight with 2 first flights who i did.
In GPS manual write - Finally, remember the normal work of Rabbit GPS needs the cooperation of self stability mode, height lock, magnetic sensor ( CF and heading lock cannot be open), please make these functions have appropriate switch! -

I flight Position Hold with Normal Mode (Acro) and is exactly same behaviour if i chose Auto Stab Mode...

Please see Video

HI
I make this long video to see how soft can fly my copter and how Sonar and baro can help.
Except vibration in gimbal that i see copter is very stable, i need more expo in aileron, Sonar don't help but baro it works good and is old baro
I have not wind.

Nice video sakis deff a few vibes from some where, nice looking church building well done keep them coming  :bravo:

Just a thought maybe the props being in the view could cause some problems with the video I seem to recall some one else having a a problem with visible props and it was much better when they weren't seen

It looks like it lands ok I tried it close in and it worked each time and disarmed the board, I will try it further away and with gps when I get to my local field which lately isn't to often

Have a look in the general section at the guy with a mini quad on a motor bike I think its really good  ~~

This is my new Gimbal.
I test this evening and works nice with out vibration in hover mode

MadMax

That should improve things with the camera being below the props, where did you get the gimble form  ~~
